Which firm is better for applying US LLM?
I graduated from the best law school in China, then i worked for two years as a financial consultant related to investment and M&A stuff. Now I am thinking changing job back to pratice law, and meanwhile applying for 2008-2009 LLM in US. So before I am admitted to any American Law School, i can have one year's pratice. Currently I got two offers from Dewey Ballantine and Baker Mckenzie for their BJ offices. I am wondering which one will help more in my application? Baker is huge in Beijing, while Dewey is just expanding. How ppl view them in US?

for the sense of brand recognition my choice would be Dewey, but either way is perfectly OKWed Aug 29, 2007 06:32 PM I co not think that LL.M. recruitment people would give it a second thought - what's important is rather what you were doing there your question refers rather to the next step - post-LL.M. job in the US: again, both firms are widely recognized, so no worries; try to figure out what projects/clients you can work on in either case; that's what counts, not a particular brand name (still I think that Dewey has a better one, notwithstanding the planned merger) |

Baker plz. I am in the same boat as yours. In my country, Baker is the most popular foreign firm.
