LLM Entertainment Law

Hi, Im a 29 year old Dutch law graduate and qualified trademarks attorney from the Netherlands and applied for a LLM in Entertainment Law at Westminster Universtiy London, since I always wanted to combine my legal knowlegde with my passion for music. I chose Westminster since I think it's the only university in the UK who's offering this specialised program in entertainment law. I was so enthusiastic about the course, but now I read some really negative comments about Westminster University as a whole (the ranking is not high), I haven't read any negative comments about the course. Im getting a bit nervous now, since I don't know if it is useful to follow this course if the reputation of the University is not good. Does anyone have experience with this LLM in Entertainment law at Westminster or does anyone have tips about alternative studies regarding to entertainment/music law?
Cheers Sue

Hi Sue
I think as long as one is genuinely passionate about the course content and the nature of knowledge, the stature of the institute hardly matters. Cas it is the knowledge that you incorporate into yourself, not the paper certification that is confered upon u. Take my example for instance: I am pursuing LLM in ICGFREL from School of Advanced Studies, University of London. I haven't heard about the institute in ANY grading whatsoever, however, it is precisely the course and the subject matter it is covering that I am going for, cas at the end of the day it is me who is going to learn deeper into area of my interest. And that is what matters not somebody's certification.

Knowledge, skill or ability matters, not certifications. Think above recommendations and believe in knowledge. You never know University of Westminster might turn at the top of all being the only one to offer such LLM.

Also a great music fan...Funny I couldnt pursue it...I truly envy you...

Good luck...
