how many schools 2 apply to?

Hey guys
I'm looking to apply for my LLM for the 2008/09 academic year. my Q is - to how many schools should I apply to secure my place at least at one university? Does it matter if they all are top schools?

I would advise you to apply to atleast one Ivy League school, two "top" schools and atleast two other schools. This would be a safe thing to do.

Hi,
The Ivy League is an athletic conference comprising eight private institutions of higher education located in the Northeastern United States. The term is now most commonly used to refer to those eight schools considered as a group. The term has connotations of academic excellence, selectivity in admissions, and a reputation for social elitism.
All of the Ivy institutions place near the top in the U.S. college and university rankings and rank within the top one percent of the world's academic institutions in terms of financial endowment.

All of the Ivy institutions continuously place near the top in the U.S. News & World Report college and university rankings. However, only Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, Pennsylvania and Yale have LLM programs. Even if you are a top student in your school, you should not rely on being accepted at one of these programs. Harvard and Columbia receive something like thousand applications each year, Yale is a small, elitist program. Cornell and Pennsylvania (ranked 13. and 6. by US News) will be the "easiest" to get in.

so here is my list tell me what u think
- George Washington University, Tufts University (Flecther school)
- NYU
-Columbia , Yale University
I want to do my LLM in international law, so are these good choices?
