College of Europe- Entry Requirements
I am very interested to know what the entry requirements for the College of Europe are with regards to the LLM programmes. Judging by the fact that only 280 students per year are selected, I imagine very high.Mon Sep 24, 2007 12:57 PM What I'm wondering really is are the selection criterion for the LLM more like English Universities (based almost solely on university undergrad grades) or do extra curriculars feature heavily in the decision? I would be keen to know with regards an English LLB background exactly what they would be looking for. Many thanks |

Just a little correction: Thu Nov 08, 2007 08:26 PM there are only around 100 places for lawyers at the college of Europe! Another 200 students are admitted to the other departments of the College like for example "Political and Administrative Studies", "European Economic Studies" or " International Relations and Diplomacy Studies". |

Students are selected on a regional basis by national selection committees so inevitably the degree of competition can vary and the panel will be aware of each country's eductation system. The course is a bilingual one so proficiency in French is a major factor on top of academic history. It's hard to know to what extent they take extra-curricular stuff into account; languages/Erasmus scheme helps and general interest in European affairs.
