NUS LLM & PhD - August 2008 - Application Process Now Open
This is to inform everyone that the application process for the NUS LLM and PhD programmes (admission in August 2008) is now open. The deadline is 30th November 2007. These are the following programmes available:Wed Oct 03, 2007 02:06 AM By coursework - LLM, with or without concentrations (concentrations are: Corporate and Financial Services Law, Intellectual Property and Technology Law, International and Comparative Law, Asian Legal Studies, Maritime Law). Applications for the specialised LLM (International Business Law) that is taught in Singapore and Shanghai will open at the end of November, while applications for the dual degree NYU@NUS programme (LLMs from NYU and NUS) have also opened - www.nyunus.org. By research thesis - LLM and PhD As usual, I welcome queries if you have any. First, please be sure to visit our website at law.nus.edu.sg/prospective/postgraduate.htm, and click on the grey information links on the left of that page. You will find the application form there, as well as other relevant information. For the record, we can grant a waiver of TOEFL/IELTS requirements if you have studied law entirely in English, and can submit a document from your school to attest to that fact. We currently have a great class comprising students from over 45 countries, and are committed to maintaining our high level of student diversity. We look forward to receiving your applications! Dear Mr. Tan, Sun Oct 07, 2007 07:53 AM I know people have already raised it on number of occasions but still to have a better clarity, does NUS follows a policy of giving waiver for English proficiency test? If yes, then whether a certificate from the Registrar of my university would suffice? Your answer would be of immense help to me. Thank you |

Yes, we do give waivers to students who have studied for their law degree entirely in English. Students should submit documentary evidence of the same together with their application form and include a note requesting the waiver (a certificate from the Registrar would suffice).Wed Oct 10, 2007 05:26 PM Alan Tan |

Sir, Wed Oct 17, 2007 05:59 AM Could you please clarify that for applying to NYU@NUS LLM course, the only mode available is that of applying through NYU online Application Process. I saw a 'Check Box' in NUS LLM Application Form, as king that 'would you wish to be considered for NYU@NUS course'. Thanks |

That check box is purely for our information.Wed Oct 17, 2007 10:31 AM You should apply separately for the NYU@NUS programme using its prescribed procedure. Regards Alan Tan |

Mr. Alan Tan, are the admissions to the NYU-NUS program decided by NYU admissions office exclusively, or does NUS have an involvement as well?

NUS is involved in the joint admissions, since it is a dual degree programme.Tue Oct 30, 2007 02:02 AM Alan Tan |

Respected Sir,Wed Nov 07, 2007 03:03 PM I am having a little trouble arranging my transcripts... You see I am an external student of the University of London and my transcripts are supposed to come from London, which is taking exceeding longer than i anticipated.... i even called their office and they said due to the work load there's no way they can post it before 20th November. What I've done is gotten my transcripts attested from the college where i studied the external course from and followed all the formalities with regards to the transcripts. Would that do until my transcripts arrive? I will send the transcripts as soon as possible.... But untill that happens would these attested trancripts do? |
