I am, and to LSE, UCL and KCL. Thu Oct 04, 2007 11:03 AM Is it just me or are subject selections at Oxbridge a little limited? Irrespective, a BCL (Oxon) or LLM (Cantab) is universally enviable!!! Good luck! Curious about your credentials - I assume firsts, top class rankings, published etc? Must be a pretty competitive class! Cheers and all the best - let me know how you go. |

I'm the same position... Cam, Ox, LSE, UCL, KCL.Thu Oct 04, 2007 04:44 PM My credential are not fantastic, but it's not my fault :( I'm going to graduate in March with the highest grade that is possible to obtain in Italy (I hope...), but here we don't have class ranking nor the possibility of having pubblication before our graduation. I only have 4 languages by my side (but I don't know how much it could be relevant), and the partecipation at the international rounds of the Jessup Moot Court Competion. I hope my references will help me! What about you? Do I have to warry about you? Ehheheh :D |

hehe yeah its a bit like that! we'll see what happens. Fri Oct 05, 2007 12:58 AM if you have the highest possible score in Italy, that should be considered a top ranking and akin to a first class honours I would think. Well done mate. Have you selected your colleges? I have all the expected stuff but still I don't think it ensures entry - a first class degree, uni medal (top student of faculty), published (refereed), internships with international firms, work in criminal law etc. I'm 23 so have not yet had a chance to get heaps of work experience in. Who knows... Best wishes and lets stay in touch because i'm already nervous lol |

Capa... you shouldn't warry too much with that credentials... Fri Oct 05, 2007 07:35 AM Are you from Uk or US? It would explain why you can fill all the blank in your application, eheheh... Actually, I'm finding difficulties even to complete the forms! Here, we don't have rankings, awards, publication, nor the time to do an internship (exams end at the end of july and starts again at the biginning of semptember... that mean that we have at least one month "free" in august). That's starting getting me quite upset! About colleges... I didn't choose yet. I don't look for a "famous" one, but I don't know if I should choose a grad college (I'll be 25 next september).... Thanks mate, i'm actually from Australia. Fri Oct 05, 2007 11:48 AM I have dual Australian/Italian citizenship but am not familiar with the Italian legal profession. College choice is really hard... i have no clue. I'm actually around your age so lets stay in touch - keep me posted how you go. |

Hi! Sun Nov 25, 2007 08:35 PM I'm applying to LSE, Cam and Ox. I'm from Scotland, as the name might suggest. Its a very time consuming process, but its sort of exciting in a way. Hope everyone's applications go extremely well. Hope to maybe meet some of you in person someday! |

Im sure all you guys have a great chance, expecially the poster "with the highest possible grade"...Mon Nov 26, 2007 02:55 AM If youre in the top 10 percent of your llb class, then you have a really good chance. references are also very important. the "raw" grade is irrelevant; it's all about the class ranking. besides, these schools get tons of international applicants, so they are very familiar with the 'curves' in each country. They know that a 60 in canada, for instance, is crappy; but that, on the indian grading curve, it is very good. so dont sweat the grades; just place highly in your class and get some good references and you'll be fine. |

I came 4th of 177 students. What type of chance does that give me?

I'd bet 100 dollars you get an offer. Don't even sweat it.

U.S. Candidate - Submitted to Cambridge and plan on submitting to Oxford. I'm currently in the top 2% of my class and have a published article - Judging by previous posts, I should have a pretty good chance of getting in - right? Second, is it really all about the grades, or do they weigh your essays pretty heavily?Fri Nov 30, 2007 10:41 PM Lastly, does anyone have an opinion on how difficult it is to get into Oxbridge relative to the "top tier" schools in the US (specifically, I applied to Berkeley, Yale, Harvard, Michigan, Chicago, Georgetown, NYU)? Thanks guys and good luck to all Mike |

I received a "Receipt of application" email about a month ago... and nothing else since then. Is this the regular procedure??? (or is it the regular procedure for "not receiving an offer"??) :-)Tue Jan 08, 2008 01:44 AM Thanks! |

this seems to be fairly regular - wouldn't worry about it! At least you know you have submitted a complete application. Best wishes!
