Regarding the job opportunities after the Master in financial law, finding a job especially in Lux should not be a problem (UCI, banking law, financial law) whether in law or consultancy firms. The reputation is good (I heared of it in Paris), and the master in very international as we have people from Mauricius, Spain, belgium and France.

JLG, I have heard that Luxembourg has quite an international professional population. Are there non-EU people attending the LLM program at the Univ. of Lux? And do you know if Luxembourg companies are generally willing to hire non-EU persons? Thanks.

Indeed Lux is a very international place. In our Master, there are non european people from Maurice and Brasil for example. For the hiring opportunities, I cannot give an opinion as it is a matter of immigration policy, as it is in every country. But I can testify that in Lux you meet people from all over the world, which can be an answer to your question...

JLG, thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Good luck with your LLM program. I hope to be there for the Banking and Financial Law program in September/October (if I'm accepted).

JLG, do you know if the LLM program will be accepting new students this September/October 2008? I've sent in my application, but I am not able to get in touch with anyone to even confirm receipt (I sent it certified, so somene signed for it, but I cannot even confirm who signed or that it has been received by the right office), and I have not heard from SEVE or from Ms. Miton. Do you have any information on this? When and how did you hear from the LLM program that you had been accepted? Thanks.

Im in the same boat. I sent in my application at the end of June but I know it arrived. Yet more than a week later I have heard no reply. I am going to call them today and see if anyone is there. I had heard from someone who did a masters there last year that they have holidays in early July but surey they would sort out the applications first.

Seanog, I was able to speak with Marie-Paule Miton last week and she informed me that admissions decisions will be made this month (July) and we will be notified in July by letter. Obviously, we're already half way through July.

Hey Sandra! Did you get accepted. I hope you did. I got accepted into the Euro Litigation Masters. Im wondering do we have to go to Luxembourg to pay the registration fee or can we not just do it over the phone. As usual, nobody in Lux is answering their phones to answer my queries!

Seanog, I don't know how we pay the registration fees. You might try sending an email - they may answer an email rather than return a phone call. Please let me know the answer if you find out. Thanks.

Seanog, no I haven't heard anything re acceptance to the LLM program yet. I'm trying to get into the Banking and Finance program, and the information I got last week from Ana Martin is that the Director of Studies hadn't made a decision yet (I don't know if that's just regarding me or generally). When did you hear you got accepted and how did you hear? Please let me know. Thanks.
