LLM Program in Sweden and Norway

I am a student from Liberia, West Africa completing my BA degree in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State University in Minnesota, USA. The B.A. in criminal justice provides students with a broad analysis of the relationship between law and society as well as a thorough examination of the interrelationships, functions and operations of the different components of the criminal
justice system according to my University (

I am currently seeking a University in Sweden or Norway with good academic reputation to study LLM courses in the fall of 2008.

Do I need need LLB or can Criminal Justice get me in LLM program in the above countries?

Hi Seltue12,
I'm not aware of the situation in Sweden, but Oslo University in Norway and they have that requirement. i.e. u have to have an LLB (atleat 4 the course of int'l law)
But u might want to use their website to find out.

i am an llm student from pakistan and according to my knowledge llm programe is only offered for those who have llb degree.

Yeah, I am pretty sure you need to have a law degree. So if you are in the U.S. you will probably have to complete a JD in order to apply for an LL.M. That being said, there are other programs in Norway/Sweden you can apply to. They have several master programs in English, not just the legal programs.
