Hi guys, has anyone received any news from Georgetown?
Can't stand waiting anymore...


I was told I would know on the 26th of March about 1-2 months ago

My GT application got complete on 3/7, status turned to decision on 3/25. I feel it's bad sign, just a little more than two weeks , the decision was reached. they must have thrown out my application :(

You should not think that way, a decision was made in my case in three weeks and it was a positive one....keep the faith, the quickness of a decision does not necessarily means it is a negative one.

Still there is no news, my status is complete, it's been over a month,
i have offer from GWU and the deadline is 30 april..
i dunno if georgetown will release a decision for me before that date
any news for u guys?

I´m still waiting for Georgetown´s reply but I was accepted in Fordham´s Banking, Finance and Corporate Law and BU´s Banking and Financial Law and want to ask you which program has a better reputation and job opportunities among american law firms?

I called GT today and was told to expect my letter some time "next weekend"

I don't take that to be a good sign, imo

just got a welcome email from Georgetown. I am accepted. however, i haven't got any mail and cannot log on the admitted student website either.

Is this just a polite way to say ur rejected from georgetown??

Your name has been withdrawn from the incoming Fall 2008 LL.M. class. "

That's not how my rejection letter reads. Is it possible they thought you withdrew yourself from consideration?

I would recommend you to call them, it might be a mistake and, honestly,. I wouldn't be surprised at all. It seems that they tend to make them. For instance, I sent all the necessary documents before November,15th deadline, but it took them more than a month to request the report from LSAC LL.M. credential assembly service! And after it was sent to them it took them several months to actually change the status of my application to "complete". I gave up on them long ago. But got the welcome e-mail tonight... Too late, too late.

My supervisor contacted them and they said by mistake !! :-\

Why are so many getting emails?

I thought Georgetown only told people through piece of mail or that is what I remember reading on their site

I am obviously wrong

in the email, it says i "should have received, or will soon be receiving, in the mail a package." Hopefully, i will receive the mail soon.

The application process w/ GT was a nightmare. I sent in everything at the end of Jan. They lost my law school transcript and one recommendation letter, so i had to resend them. I was told my application was complete on 3.7 then my status turned to decision around 3.25. I got an email on 3.28.
I totally understand your feelings. Waiting really killed me. Wish you good luck and maybe see you at GT this fall.

Just an FYI, I sent mine in around late November and had mine changed to Complete about 5-6 weeks later due to just slow input into the system. I had to call them to let them know everything was sent in and a week later it changed to decision

I am starting to get quite annoyed with having to wait this long. I can handle a rejection letter if that is what the decision is

hey guys have you also been admitted to another law schools? i ve been so far admitted to chicago, penn and GW. i ll pass penn and i am in a great dilemma as to whether to choose chicago or GW.

wow congrats! if i were you i'd definitely pick chicago, it's a prestigious law school with a limited number of LLM students

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!

I submitted all required documents by Feb15th and my application just became complete on Friday March 28. So hopefully its not too late!?! and a (positive) decision will be made soon but it seems a lot of people have already been accepted... Is anyone else out there waiting on a decision still? I am starting to obsess :)

My application was complete a month before yours and I am still waiting as well

I called Georgetown last week and I was told I would recieve something by the end of this week

If you haven't been rejected, you still have a chance.

But, someone I know recently got a rejection letter from GT and someone else here recently said they did AND someone on another forum as well so rejection letters are going around and being told I would recieve something worries me
