What? No....you are supposed to find out either way through mail

The 1-2 here that said they found out through email were the first 1-2 I had ever heard finding out from GT through email and in the email it said they should have already gotten the acceptance package

Hi everyone,

I am in the same situation. My status is "decision" but I did not receive anything. I called them yesterday, saying that I need to pays deposits elsewhere next week, and they say I would receive the answer by middle of next week (great!...does not help for avoiding paying the deposit)...

The thing is I am dying to wait (GT is from far my first choice), and I am thinking that if haven't received an email then I am obviously rejected :(
Can someone confirm that please? (I have read that people got admission emails, and some other say that even if admitted, you will be contacted by postmail..??????????)

Plus, I don't get the reason why they don't send you promptly the answer if the Committe has reached a decision...

Hi,

Your post is encouraging, as my status is decision and I haven't received anything. But are you sure that the admitted students get informed by post?
And don't you think it's bad sign if they did not want to give me the decision on phone????
By the way: are you going to GT? If so, congratulatios :D

You'll be informed by post first and then receive an e-mail. I received the e-mail a day or two after the admission letter (I live in Europe).

I've declined my offer, so I hope you'll receive and admission letter soon!

Good luck!

Desiree,

I did the early application, in December. Anyway, I think you can find some calmless in my experience:

It was Friday when my application status turned to "Decision". I received the e-mail in the following Thursday, almost one week later!!!

I’m from Brazil. I graduated in 2002 from my Law School (LLB) and since then I'm working in the Tax Area of a Big Brazilian Law Firm. I'm going to attend the LLM. in Taxation.

Should be in Washington D.C. on July 13th, because I will take the Foudations classes.

Good Lucky!!! See you all in Washington!!!

I got into Georgetown early decision, but here was how the timing worked for me:

Status went to decision
72 hours later I could log into the admitted students website (www.law.georgetown.edu/admissions/admitted/index.c…)
About four days after my status went to decision, I received the UPS package (I am a domestic student though)
Maybe two weeks after my status went to decision, I got the welcome e-mail.

So, if your status has gone to decision, wait a few days and then try to log onto the admitted students website. Until then, don't worry, and good luck!

The problem for me is....I am being "held" so a month ago my application went to "decision" but their "decision" was to put me on hold and that has never changed so I have been waiting for a month looking in the mail because the web-site is no longer useful to me

I was told I should expect something by the end of this week and I can't log onto the site so I guess I am rejected

LinkedS, I think you still have a chance. If you're admitted, you can log onto the website three days after they actually make the decision. So, they could make the decision Friday, and you wouldn't be able to log onto the site until Monday.

And Hoang, yes, I logged onto the admitted students site using the same username and password I used for the online application.

I just received an e-mail with the subject "Welcome to Georgetown". Thanks! My password doesn't work on the admissions page, though. Maybe I was the last person they e-mailed before they went home for the weekend.

I haven't chekced the status page for a few days, but it was only "complete" on Monday.

Thanks! It certainly made Friday evening a lot better! I am an international student, currently working in the Hague. I haven't really decided when I'll come to washington yet (I received the admissions e-mail 1,5 hour ago), but I look forward to seeing you in September:)

I am still waiting for them to answer, but I don't really hope anymore. I guess if I had been admitted I would have been contacted by email...:(

I have to admit. I am getting very annoyed at Georgetown. I called GT today as they told me to and they said they still had no decision on my application and that I must still wait.

So....

First, they tell me by March 26th. Nothing
Then, they tell me by the end of this current week. Nothing

Still waiting.

Northwestern deadline is April 24th or 26th...one of them

Hopefully I will know by then

Hey,
I think the reason for the delay is that the deadline for the first bunch to state whether they intend to enroll or not was until April 4th. So they must be checking who decided to enroll and who declined their offers and hopefully they will issue another round of offers.
So keep the faith!

Thanks for this information. I am waiting as well. I called them last Wednesday and they told me I will have an answer in the middle of next week. They did not tell me if I will be informed by email or by post. And I kind of lost any hope reading here that some have received emails, I guess I would have received one if I had been admitted...But hopefully I'll be fixed soon!
Nuy, you can call them, maybe they will hurry up if you tell them you have offers from other unis (that's what I told them and the person asked me about the deadlines for the deposits in other unis...)

I wish you all and me good luck!
