is there any chance that only admitted students who got e-mail and mail? while the others who are not admitted will only get decision by airmail?

That is what I am guessing...But I think we have no choice than wait. There are post here that say so and others that say the contrary (that admitted students are informed by post mail as well....??)

I sent in my app in February, did not get listed as complete until March 28, Just got into UM, still waiting on GT, NW, UF and NYU. My stats are 30% T2, moot court, 2 book awards, lots of probono, 4 semesters of interships (no tax, 1 judge) former Marine. What are my chances?

So the "status" page finally changed to "Decision" today. How long before I see something in the mail?

Georgetown extended an offer to me (via e-mail) around 5 p.m. today for its tax program. A few minutes later, my status changed to "Decision."

I wouldn't worry if your status has changed, but you haven't received an e-mail.

I've parsed through the internet looking for how Georgetown is notifying its applicants. Some are going through snail-mail, others via e-mail.

Just sit tight.

I too received an email today offering me admission to the Int'l Law program. My app'n went complete on March 26th. I sent in my material on Feb. 26th but one of my recommendations got lost so I had to resend it.

Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know about financial aid? I got in but did not receive any info about scholarships, etc. Does this info come later? Or, do you find out about your scholarship status along w/ your admission letter? That is, if you did not receive info about scholarships w/ your admission letter, does that mean you were not chosen for a scholarship?

Thanks!

And, to the previous poster, here are my stats:
Top 25 US law school
Top 35% of my class
Law Review
Note Published in the Law Review
3 Int'l Law Classes (B+, A, A)
Military Officer

raderoot: keep checking your e-mail; I got an e-mail a day before the welcome package arrived in the mail!

Is anyone worried about the economy and job prospects? I want more than anything to get my LLM in Tax from GULC, but I don't know what I'm going to do if I take out another 60K in loans and no job.

I feel the same way! G-town is roughly $63K for one year! And, I'm already more than $100K in debt just from law school! I don't know if an LLM is worth it now. :(

I got the e-mail a few days after I got the letter. But, I applied early decision so I received my decision in December about 2 weeks after I went complete.

About the economy, am I worried? Yes and no (sorry I was an econ major and for the life of me I can never give a strait answer)
Yes: In the early 90's Japan went through a very similar housing/ credit/ banking crisis that destroyed the economy and put Japan into a 15 year period of stagnation. They have yet to fully recover. Likewise, in the past few months several major financial institutions have gone bankrupt (do a google search), the stock market dropped 2000 points....
On: On the other hand, the American economy has an awesome ability to overcome hardship, remember 9/11 and the accounting issues of a few years ago. Also, so much of the economy is fueled by intangible ideas of "optimism"; that being said, I believe there will be a great deal of optimism when the new president gets sworn in January. Just in time for all of us to get hired. (What ever your political opinions are, there is a general sense that Bush has screwed up the economy and everything else he has touched, and the new president McCain or Obama will have a powerful impact)
