Hello, VA. I'm starting a new thread.

Has anyone received news from UPenn? Any admissions? Status?

What happened to my application was that I had submitted my online application (Oct. 29) before I received the waiver. (Oct. 31). They sent me an email allowing the waiver, and I replied(with a copy of the waiver), saying that I couldn't revise my application anymore, since it has already been submitted. Then they emailed back and said that they will handle it from over there. So, I can't do any status check, since their system still registers my application as incomplete.

I dont think you need to worry about the completion of your apps anymore. Either ways, unlike GULC, Penn doesnt offer a comprehensive status check online. I understand that the status remains unchanged at "complete" until you receive your admission letter, so no point checking their website.

I presume that they wont start sending admission letters before January (last date mentioned for the same is Feb 8). If any one has any additional info, please share it with us.

Hey optimistic- I hear that people have started receiving their acceptance letters from Penn. Keep me updated on developments at your end. I read on one of the other posts that you are set to join GULC. Please hold on to the pride of your name. I understand that you have applied to some other good schools. Keep faith. Cheers

I haven't received any news from UPenn yet. How will I learn about my acceptance or non-acceptance? By email first and then mail? Or only by mail?

Plese let me know.

Also, How many people do you know who have received their acceptance letters? Could you let me know?

Hey Dan
I believe all letters of acceptance/rejection are sent only through post (snail mail). As of now, i am aware of only one person who has got in- with a 20k schol. I heard of the same on one of the other forums on this site.

Hi everyone.

This wait is a real killer. I see here that most applicants to other universities receiving their admissions (like GT or Harvard). SO when will we learn about it? I need my admission (IF admitted) to apply for scholarships. The website says that early applicants receive results by February 8. That is too late. When do people USUALLY hear from UPenn?

Guys,

Based on previous years posts I guess we'll be hearing from them only by the end of January; and that's for early applicants. I hope I'm wrong though...

Today is the 26th of January, and I haven't heard from UPenn yet. I've got tired of waiting. One of my friends who is also studying at UPenn told me that he received his admission in January. Anyone here who receivd the letter this January?

Not yet, as you I'm quite surprised by the fact that they haven't replied. They should send out admissions/rejections by February 8th so they have only 2 weeks left!

Haven't received anything yet. For the 2006 class, if I'm not mistaken, they emailed decisions to everyone only on the last day before the deadline!

Do you know more about that new certificate, because no information on Upenn website ?

I received the same mail as well, apparently it is customary for Upenn to send all mails at the same time so we might expexct to receive the admission/rejection mails on the same day, anytime soon (I hope...)

Miki- If I remember correctly, people received their acceptance letters on different days last year. So I doubt if thats true. Also, they send acceptance thru emails unlike some other univs.

Hi, VA! Sorry haven't been checking llm-guide for a few weeks. but to answer your question, no, no news from anywhere. Except for a. the email from UPenn that everyone else got, and b. the email from gulc opening of a new program (IEBL). I didn't really apply to many schools, because I didn't want to get more confused and indecisive than I already am! =D

I'm wondering if the persons who have already been admitted to UPenn were those who had deferred from last year?
