This thread will be for all those domestics out there waiting on NYU's Tax program. When did your file become final? Have you received a decision? What are your stats?

Here's my info:
Final: Early January
Decision: Not yet
Stats: T1, Top 25%, Tax Clinic, DOJ Tax Experience, published tax article, tax law website

Also, checkout this link for NYU admitted students. You'll be asked to enter your SS# and your DOB:

I applied on January 13. Top 50% of class, Tier 1 law school, 3.93 tax gpa. No decision as of today. Practicing CPA for 3 years before law school.

I'm not sure you care about part-time students, but for what its worth, my application was complete January 10 and I received an acceptance letter dated January 16 from NYU. I'm planning on starting part-time in the fall.

When I applied last year (late feb) I didn't get the acceptance letter until may. I think some people heard back even later because they prioritize the intl student applications, or in borderline cases wait for spring grades if you're a 3L. However, if you try to log in to the admitted students site, and were recently accepted, you will be able to enter the site before the acceptance letter actually arrives.

Thanks for the information att333!

Waiting until May or later isn't too big of a deal if you are already out in practice, but if you are a 3L...that wait is stressful. How do you plan for a bar exam? Or a job? This fall I turned down an offer from my summer program (mainly b/c I didn't like the ppl I was working with), but I don't want to turn down any offers I recieve in the next month or so!

att333...did you apply to Georgetown or UF last year in late feb? If so, how long did it take to hear from them?

Thanks for all the info!

Though I did not apply to NYU, I feel your pain (as I said above)

I recently got accepted to NW and am now waiting on GT/UF who have both told me I am on their waiting lists

I really, REALLY wish I could get decisions either way as it is tough waiting.

I do plan on staying around where my LLM is IF I can get a good job around there so the wait is killing me EVEN MORE

Hey guys. Some interesting news. I got into G-town and was notified last week (via email) that I got one of their ten Grad Tax Scholar scholarships. This pretty much means I'm going to G-town. The irony is that I still haven't heard a peep from NYU!!!

It was never my intention to rub anything in. I honestly thought people would like to know how and when the scholarships came out. That's been an oft-debated topic on other threads and sites. I thought that, plus the irony of having not even heard anything from NYU, would make an informative post.

i was only joking...no harm done (I forget that tone doesn't post well to internet boards and I am sorry if I sounded harsh.)

On another note...any domestics receive rejection letters?

I didn't think you were rubbing it in ;)

I understand some's frustration though in hearing others getting in especially with money....I am one of them

Just NYU.

Most 3L's graduate, take the bar exam in July, then start the program afterwards, and get bar results in time for thanksgiving.

I'd imagine most employers would extend time to make a decision, and the ones that give you the 1 or 2 week deadlines - well that just tells you what you're going to be if you work for them.

I think the majority of NYU tax decisions are out by March - April, especially if you applied early. If I recall, there was a holdup with my recommendation on my file being complete.

Thanks for the information att333!
