Let me say CONGRATS to all of you who have been admitted to GULC's LLM program. Hopefully some of you can share some insight with me concerning what it takes to get into the program (I wish to apply for an individualized program of study). I am currently at a top 25 law school in the US (I'll graduate in May of this year). I have a 3.4 and am in the top 30% of my class and am on the Law Review. Also, I have published a law review article in the Law Review and have served as a research assistant for the individual who was runner up for atty of the year in '06. I plan to concentrate on int'l law as I am currently assisting this individual on the case of Salim Hamdan (bodygurad to Osama bin Laden). This case of Hamdan v. Rumsfeld was won at the US Sup Ct level in '06. The case is currently before a military commission and I have traveled to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, etc to work on this case. However, I'm not top 15% of my class and this worries me. Also, I'm applying for an LLM straight out of law school. Any insight? I'd really rather not waste paper and money! You have good credentials and class ranks, although an important item in the basket, are not everything. You won't waist your time. What matters the most is that you have been busy doing a lot of interesting stuff related with International Law. Do not hesitate. Apply!
