I would like to hear from other South Africans applicants; in particular I thought it would be interesting to discuss college choices, educational background and expectations of life in Cambridge. Looking forward to many responses!

Hi! I am a South African going to Cambridge in 2008! Very excited! I went to UKZN where I studied for a BA(LLB) and am currently working as a clerk at the Constitutional Court to Justice ALbie Sachs. My first College choice was Gonville and Caius. You?

Great to hear from you pudifin; Peterhouse was my first choice and Magdalene my second. As it currently stands I am likely to be taking up a position at Oxford, so you may be left to fly the SA flag independently. Are you intending to pursue an academic career or does legal practice hold more appeal?

Hi guys, I'm a South African too...I'm still waiting to hear about funding (which sucks), but hopefully will see you both in October. We must get together for a braai (weather permitting!). I'm in Clare.

Good luck with your funding Paul. Am now certain that I'll be attending Oxford instead (Green Templeton), but will certainly be making a couple of trips to Cambridge so perhaps a braai isn't out of the question :)
