Hello everyone.
I'm starting this thread in order to see what you guys think about those 2 excelent schools. FYI i've been admitted to both and i would to hear your opinion on the subject.
I know Cornell is an Ivy leage school, but i also noticed that Chicago is ranked higher (6th). Besides that i have no info.
What do you think?

i don't think the whole ivy league thing matters when it comes to law schools - it's better to go by the us news rankings
having said that they're both small and selective programs
i dont go to either of these schools but i would still choose chicago, especially if you're interested in the whole law and economics area which is what chicago is known for (although - as a previous poster pointed out - sadly for chicago - sunstein is jumping ship to HLS)
cornell is pretty good for comparative / international law so i guess it would depend on your area of interest
from what i've heard chicago is probably a better place to live in than ithaca since there's a lot more stuff to do whereas ithaca's a pretty small isolated town.
anyway, congrats on your admission to both!

Greg, Sunstein is going to HLS for sure. But heard he will keep his office and still teach in winter. Big loss for U of C, but they are still a great Law School.

Of course both are excellent schools. Congrats on your successful application! But I almost think it's a no brainer to choose Chicago over Cornell. Ivy means nothing (man they just play sports together), especially comes to law schools. Chicago has long enjoyed a better reputation than Cornell.

How would you say about Northwestern instead of Chicago comparing Conell? Excluding the law schools' specialty, I am wondering which shool other guys choose between Northwestern and Cornell.

The question is what are your interests. But if you put that aside and just compare the general quality of those 2 (excelent) programs, I think that Northwestern is a solid choice overall, especially if intend to do the LLM/K program which is great accourding to what i heard.
Best of Luck

Yes, it depends on what would you like to do.
UChicago is one of the most recognized law schools, but for what I have told it is very theorical, on the other side you have NW, and if you are inclined to to your LLM in business, well the Kellogg program has to be a must for you! I think that now you have do put your priorities on a list!
But these 2 options are great, top of the top
