I thought it might be helpful to start a consolidated thread for NYU '08 admits. We could even start a Facebook group for those of us on Facebook! As things start to firm up, we can exchange information on practical things like flights and accommodation...

I'll start the ball rolling--

I've been admitted to the General Studies LLM (on the Hauser), and am from Southeast Asia. As for housing, I intend to live in Mercer or D'ag, but I can't get into the Admitted Students site! Argh.

Hi Exbcler, congrats on your admission. I'm afraid I can't help you right now since I'm still waiting for my admission. But I was curious to know when you got your answer and if you applied through the regular review (NYU only) or for the program at NUS as well.
Thanks!

Exbicer- Did you apply for both the programs (NYU@NUS and NYC) or just the NYC Program? When did you hear from them and how? I too have applied for the General Studies LLM at NYC. Congratulations.

Well done to everyone who is in! Is it safe to assume that the 'early to mid-march' decision date for NYU@New York City is still accurate?

I guess those who got the Hauser Global Scholarship got told early?

Well done again!

Wow guys, congratulations!

I did not know results of NYU in NYC would be out so soon! I was expecting something by March 15th. Should people who did not get the mail be concerned about their chances to be admitted?

concrats as well!

I haven't heard anything from NYU yet, however, did neither apply for NUS@NYU nor for the Hauser scholarship but only for the normal corporate law program at NYU. Where did you get the date 15 March from? As I have to commit to Columbia until 10 March at the latest, I really hope to receive an answer from NYU in the course of this week. Does any one else have this problem? How are you handling it if NYU does not send out its decisions in due time?

I am in the same position as you are, as I have also been admitted to Columbia.

NYU webisite states that "Decisions regarding the full-time LL.M. program in New York City will be communicated in early to mid-March to applicants with foreign education credentials who supply all materials necessary to complete their files by the December 1 deadline, without preference to date of application". The March 15th estimative was based on last year's results.

It's a though choice, since both alternatives consist of tremendous top notch schools. Sometimes I wonder whether they set these dates on purpose to compel students to enroll before receiving all the results.

All students admitted to Columbia must answer the admission's offer up to March 15?

I have received by offer of admission last Friday (February 22) but I still did not receive the Fedex with the admission procedures.

I have also applied to NYU but did not receive an answer yet...

Hey all! I was able to log to NYU's admitted students web page:
(its.law.nyu.edu/admitted/login/login.cfm?dest=/adm…)
I guess that means that I was admitted. However, I have not received the letter of admission :(

Fer_rj,

This deadline was assigned for students admitted on the early review process. As for the deadline for regular cycle admissions, I can not provide any useful information.

Hey D_D,

Did you use your given admission number, which begins with 888..., and that was provided to you when submitting your application to login? It seems I am not able to access their webpage...

I have a question.
I have been admitted to NYU (full time in NY) and they are offering me the Hugo grotius scholarship (Full tution fees covered). But there is a condition: If they give me the scholarship, I would have to withdraw any other admission from other universities. Actually it's first, come-firts-served, so If I wait to long, no more scholarship for me, but I can still get in.
My dream is to go to Harvard, and I did not received any answer from them yet. Do you think I should take the risk and wait?

Congratulations, tannaz!

Well, it's really a question that only you can answer. Do you want to go to Harvard so much that you are willing to turn down a full scholarship at NYU (which has a great international law programme) and run the risk that you may not get in? Or would you rather have your way paid at NYU? It's your call.

My feeling is that if you are good enough for the Grotius you are probably good for an admit at Harvard. Harvard is a huge programme.

I suppose one way (but you must be careful not to be too obnoxious when you do this) is to explain your situation to the Harvard admissions people, and see if they can expedite communicating your admit decision.

Hey all!

I used the 888xxxx number as user name and my b-day as password. Then the page asked me to change my password and I was able to log in.

I hope this can be helpful.
