UVA vs Georgetown
Like many other admitted LL.M., I am also very frustrated about which school to school and waiting for replies from the remaining schools.Thu Mar 06, 2008 07:37 AM I am admitted to both Georgetown and UVA for general studies, and was rejected by Chicago and Upenn. Now, I am still waiting for HLS and NYU. As most of my friends have already received admission letters from NYU, and I also failed to log into the admission student website, does it mean I am rejected? How do I choose between GTU and UVA? I have spoken to an american lawyer (J.D) from my firm and other amercians, they have better impressions on GTU in general, and GTU seems to have better reputation as a law school. Many people told me that law school ranking and location are more important factors for choosing school. I personally prefer living in big cities, like the D.C, so I tend to choose GTU, but I am unwilling to give up UVA because of its ranking. Can anyone advise me which school to choose, please? Thank you very much! |

UVA vs Georgetown
Thank you for your reply. I am not made up my mind yet, but I have decided to pay the deposit for UVA as it is due next week. Just spoke with the partners at my firm regardings my choices, and I feel like I should share their opinions with other admitted students who are facing the same situation. They both incline for Georgetown because of the prestige location, and georgetown also seems like a more well-known school to them. I found it quite interesting that current and recent LL.M. graduates prefer UVA to Georgetown, while JDs prefer Georgetown.
