Generally, American law schools will admit foreign students to LL.M. programs if the candidate possesses the foreign equivalent of the American J.D. degree (i.e., the academic degree regarded in your country as the first "professional" degree for attorneys). While I'm unfamiliar with Swiss educational traditions as pertains to attorneys, I suspect that your LL.B. degree will satisfy this requirement. Mon, 09 Jun 2008 07:59:00 +0200 http://www.llm-guide.com/board/42259/last#48146 Hi ! i have studied in Switzerland for a few years. a Bachelor is indeed the minimum requirement to apply to an LLM program, however, i would really advise you to pursue the Master in Switzerland, especially because I believe there is no selection amongst students between the bachelor and the master (eg as long as you have the bachelor, you are admitted to the master) which is a huge advantage over other systems (france for instance) and then you can apply for an LLM. many of my friends from Fribourg or Lausanne completed their master before applying to an LLM. good luck anyways if you decide to apply!!
