the notification of the offer this year is sent by email and later by post - so you can stop frantically checking your mailbox like I have been for the past week or two

I received an offer by email this morning.

I'm a little torn about it, though, because the lousy thing came in at 6:09 a.m. my time, which is sadly far too early to start drinking in good conscience.

I don't think I'm ready for six hours of sober celebration...

Woo hoo!

Does anyone know roughly when we might start hearing about college and/or scholarship decisions from Oxford and Cambridge? I imagine as with some others who have now been admitted to both, the scholarship decision will play a big part in deciding which one to choose.

After rejections from Chicago and Georgetown, you can't imagine how good it feels to get an acceptance from Oxford!

In case anyone cares - I received the admission via email. I am an American applicant. The email came through at 6am eastern time.

Good luck to everyone,

Mike

Edit: Bender, drinking may not be a legitimate option at 8am, but I agree that it cetainly has crossed my mind!

I think I applied just before the 18 Jan deadline...

Offer came via letter attached to email. The email didn't actually say whether you got in or not, so it was a bit of a nervous wait for the Word document to open!

I am curious I must admit, I sent my application via special delivery and have a receipt of delivery, but have heard absolutely nothing since, no e-mail, no letter, is this the same for everybody else?

Should I assume that all acceptance emails were sent today and if I didn't hear that means I was not accepted? Or is it possible more emails will be sent out tomorrow?

I applied to the MJur and have not received an offer yet. after reading many of the posts here, I got worried...so I called and emailed the admissions office today and was informed that decisions are due tomorrow march the 14th and that letters would be received within the next two weeks... I guess some people have been informed earlier than others... BTW if there are Americans here, have you received offers yet?
I quote the message I received

"...decisions are due to be made by tomorrow (March 14th) and you should receive a decision letter directly from the Faculty within the next few weeks.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Ted Weiland

I am from Australia and received notification of acceptance into the BCL program this morning by email with the offer letter attached.

As some others have done, I'd also urge anyone with any information as to when we might find out about scholarships etc to share that with the rest of us.

I sent out my app like a few weeks before the deadline, but only got my teacher's reference in on the day of the deadline.

So I guess at least if you submitted online, you can be sure that they got your app, even though they annoyingly don't send out confirmation emails.

Btw for any people interested (I know I was when I applied), I got a 59.6 average in first year, but a 70 average in 2nd (3 firsts) - so I think first year doesn't matter THAT much, contrary to what John Gardner on the student room implied.

Hi everyone. I also received an offer this morning via email (Australian time). Sorry for my misleading post on the other thread about offers only coming out by letter - I guess they got more tech savvy this year! I certainly wasn't expecting to hear so soon.

I applied before Christmas on paper, but it doesn't seem to matter when you put in your application as I think they only start considering them once the date has passed.

I'd also really like to know about Clarendon/ scholarships etc so anyone with info let us know! I don't think we'll hear about colleges for at least a few weeks as it's my understanding they only send applications to the colleges once the due date for offers has passed/ people have officially been notifed.
