hi,
i have received no news at all from columbia yet. i just wanted to find out, has columbia only sent out acceptences till now or have they also sent out rejections? does anyone know of any person who applied in the regular cycle and has been rejected?

I know for a fact that they have sent rejections (both referring to the early review and regular cycle), so we just have to wait.....

Thanks Lemonde. What inference do you believe can be drawn if one has heard nothing at all from them yet? I suppose that it is slightly positive sign considering that rejections have been sent out.

I also think it is slightly positive although applicants with strong credential have been already notified with admissions.
I also know that Columbia, as other law school, has wailist but I haven't heard anything this year about it?

Does anybody have any idea when the second wave of results from Columbia will be declared? As I understand, currently several people have still not heard anything from Columbia.

Well I haven't heard anything, so I sent them an email with my name and the date on which I received confirmation of receipt of all my materials which was the 4th of Jan.

This was the reply:

"As stated in all of our application materials and on the website, our admissions are made on a rolling basis from late December through late April. When a decision is made on your file, we will notify you by email.
Thank you for your patience in this process."

Nothings come through for me yet, so its just a wait tlll the email, I guess....

Well, this explains why I haven't heard from them yet. Nonetheless I'm hopeless because they have admitted so many people already that I don't think there are still many spots available.

hi guys,

just wanted to share my experience.

I got the application complete notification on December 28, 2007. Thereafter I heard nothing from CLS.
Last week I wrote to CLS requesting a decision as I have been granted admission to Upenn and have to pay their deposit by April 1st. I got the same automated reply as Ruma, that decisions are made on a rolling basis. I then called them and spoke a very helpful lady. She asked me to foward my Penn admission email to them so that they may expedite the decision process on my file. Once I did that, I heard from CLS within 2 hours with a decision on my file. Unfortunately, the decision was a rejection.

I got the feeling that some decisions are made but not communicated. For example, in my case, I doubt the admission committee could have reviewed my file within 1-2 hours of my email and the decision had probably already been made (although not communicated to me).

Maybe calling up helps, specially for those with other deadlines. Goodluck!

I'm starting to feel worried about my chances to get into the program.

Hi!

I submitted my application on the early review deadline and then, on late December, I received an e-mail with a referral to the normal admissions cycle. Since then, I haven´t heard a thing. Is anybody on the same situation??

I submitted my application close to the deadline and was informed that my application was completed on Feb 2. I was informed to be admitted on March 25 by email and requested to deposit 500 USD by April 9 for reserving a place.

I think by the middle of april the game will be over.
Compared to last year it seems that those admitted through the early review have filled all available seats.
I'm really looking forward to attend CLS but I'm starting to feel a little desperate about it....
