Did you send the email to llmquery@law.harvard.edu?
Did you send it this morning?
I sent mine a while after people started posting their acceptances.
Thanks!

I sent it at 17.51 and got the response automatically (obviously) :) It went something like this....

Thank you for your e-mail regarding your LL.M. application to the Graduate Program at Harvard Law School.

We expect that our admissions decisions will be available by Friday, March 21st. However, if you have been offered admission by other LL.M. programs and cannot get an extension until at least March 24th, please provide us with all relevant information (including the specific deadlines that you are facing) and we will do our best to provide you with as much information as possible before your deadlines.

Admissions decisions will be sent out via regular mail. You may call our office to obtain your results beginning on Friday, March 21st.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Your e-mail is important to us, and will be answered as soon as we are able.

Kind regards,
Admissions staff

It's very strange that I didn't get that automatic response.
I might send it again and see what happens.
In any case I think I'm going to SLS.
Thanks for your answer and best of luck to you!

Well Done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are you all from?

Hi Louise. I'm from Brazil. Taking into consideration that four students(me, kobayashimaru, llmers, jenkinsVrose) told they were admitted almost at the same time, I guess some of the admission decisons were sent out simoutaneasly, Since only five people have put an answer in this forum so far, I don't believe that all decisons e-mails were already sent. Best of luck to you all!

Dear _________:

The Committee on Graduate Studies has asked me to inform you of its decision regarding your application for admission to the LL.M. Program for the 2008-2009 academic year.

This year Harvard Law School received an overwhelming number of applications for approximately 150 spaces in the LL.M. class. As in previous years, our applicants included a singularly impressive group of practicing lawyers, government officials, law teachers and others from over 70 countries. As you might imagine, such an applicant pool requires that we make some very difficult admissions decisions, and the Committee found it impossible to accept all those whom it would like to encourage in graduate study.

Although the Committee, after careful consideration, is unable to offer you admission at this time, your name has been placed on the waiting list. We expect to have a better idea by mid-May as to whether we will be able to accommodate any candidates from the waiting list. If a place in the class becomes available, we will let you know as soon as possible.

If you wish to discuss your status, please feel free to contact me by phone or by e-mail. If you choose to accept an offer from another school, please notify us so we can remove your name from the waiting list.

Thank you very much for your interest in the Harvard Law School LL.M. Program.

Very truly yours,
Sarine Der Kaloustian

Maybe I pushed my luck a little bit, I sent them two emails today and this is their way of getting rid of me.

To tell you the truth I'm quite happy. At least I don't have the problem of having to decide between SLS and HLS. Now I'm definitely going to SLS!!!
Good luck to all those still waiting and congratulations to those going to HLS!

Hard luck. Just to be clear, when you say 'decisions were already made' do you know whether all decisions are complete at this point?

Thanks for any further information you can provide and comiserations once again.

Hi all, I read llm-guide for more than 2 years but I just register to post.

Reading from previous posts, I think admitted people received emails in different time. Some people receive it a few hours after the first post.

Hopefully, HLS still has available seats.

I still don't hear anything from HLS. Some people may think it's too late if I don't receive anything yet. Let's see whether I will hear the good news before the end of 21 March or maybe, I just have to wait for official rejection.

Congratulations to all those who were admitted and condolences to those who were not. Life goes on even if HLS or YLS don't offer you for admission to their "lofty" programs; trust me, you'll become a solid professional in spite of those elitists!

What is the size of the entering class of LL.M. students at HLS, and also YLS for that matter? I've seen conflicting data on this point (some say 50, others say 150).

I ask because their admission processes strike me as either ridiculously difficult ("oh, we've gotten too many qualified applicants, blah, blah, blah...") or incredibly arbitrary (e.g., cherry-picking applicants from this or that country/background, with no apparent rhyme or reason)!

Anyhow, "buck up" boys and girls who weren't admitted...you're all going to make fine LL.M. students elsewhere!

Is there anyone who sent an email and received a positive answer?
It looks like if you send an email you receive an immediate rejection :-)

Ummmm, it seems like there is no admission email in this day. I'm not sure whether it means HLS already sent all of available seats at this time. (but it seems like they did)

As I saw from the other, if we send the email to ask admission office, we may receive bad news instantly.

Congratulation for all admitted people.
