It is true that lots of US law schools have so-called "regional/country" quotas. However, such quotas system do not mean that only one person from a particular school would be admitted. Harvard sometime admits several students from a single top school in one county.

Good luck to everyone!

As far as I know, it is true. Whether they are fixed quotas or just rough percentages I do not know.

Just look at stats from previous years, you'l find that there is a fixed amount of students from certain countries - + 1 or 2.

Sure, if you look at 2006 2007 HLS admission threads you will find exact number per/country. I have seen several of those.

Thanks for the posts, everybody. I guess the rumor that HLS accepts only one student per university is definitely false then.
Let's keep our fingers crossed, as this week is THE week!

Thanks for your swift reply, Greg. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to retrieve the posts you mentioned. Could you provide us with the links to those threads? Many thanks!

I have a feeling that Harvard will release admissions before March 21.

In previous years, decisions were made before that date.

I just received this.................I am in...........

On behalf of Harvard Law School's Committee on Graduate Studies, I am delighted to inform you that you have been admitted to our LL.M. Class of 2009. Congratulations!

I am sending you this e-mail now because I wanted to share the good news with you as soon as possible. We will be sending out the official letter of admission and related materials later this week, and you should receive them some time in the following week, depending on FedEx delivery schedules. (If your admission is subject to your completing certain degree or other requirements, those conditions will be specified in your official admission letter.)

Since admission decisions are made without reference to financial condition, we are only now beginning to review financial aid applications. If you have also applied for financial aid, we will let you know our decision by April 7, 2008. If you are facing an earlier deadline from another institution, please send me the details and we will try to give you an expedited decision.

Meanwhile, should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to welcoming you to Harvard Law School!

With best wishes,
Sarine Der Kaloustian (please feel free to call me Sarine)

Congrats to both of you! It seems Harvard has begun to deliver decisions! Did ask for an early decision or just got an unprovoked e-mail?

This seems to be the normal round of admission decision. although i stand corrected.

Congrats to everyone admitted.I hope that everyone gets in as this wait has been traumatic to most of us.

If I haven’t received anything yet, I’m out?

Does Harvard send all admission e-mails at the same time?

Does someone already called HLS admission office to know further news?

Thank you for your anwers!

well all we have to find out is whether they sent out all of the emails at the same time, which is unclear at this point. Anyone?
