Rejection From HLS
I received a rejection letter from Harvard Law School. I feel like I want to die. It was truly my desire to study at Harvard. I’ve worked hard.. I’ve paid from my life 3 years then no thing?!!!!!!!. Tue Mar 25, 2008 12:10 AM I feel like every thing end there is no thing I want to do. I spend two days crying I cant believe this letter. It is not fair to just reject a person because there are many highly qualified applicants. Is there any possible way I can do to persuade the committee to change their decision?!!!!!!!! I’m thinking truly to suicide! If that will work |

There are several others, though of course not me, who have rejected offers from HLS.Tue Mar 25, 2008 12:28 AM Do not forget that HLS is not the last thing in the world; and there are several much more beautiful places arounds; moreover, this rejection is not for ever; if you complete your LL.M from some other school this fall, you may consider Harvard again in future may be for a course or as a visiting scholar; keep the fire burning and keep making efforts - the Karma. |

To NoonA:Tue Mar 25, 2008 12:29 AM What the f*&K are you on about???!!! HLS is great, but its nothing to cry over. HLS is just a tool to help you succeed and reach your goals/dreams. THERE ARE OTHER TOOLS OUT THERE!!! Education is a means to an end. I believe that blogs should allow people to express their true self, but seriously dude [...]. "It is not fair to just reject a person because there are many highly qualified applicants."--- can you emagine if everyother HLS applicant thought this. There are plenty of other schools out there--- not that it makes a difference where you end up going, because a loser like yourself wont really do much with an LLM anyway. No need to be so rud.Tue Mar 25, 2008 12:51 AM If you don't have anything useful to say, you should shut up and keep your bad manners to yourself. |

I stand by my words. I may have been harsh, but if it gave NoonA a reality check, then i've done my part. Tue Mar 25, 2008 02:28 AM He/She clearly needs to develop some character, conviction, emotional maturity and get his/her priority straight. It'll be more beneficial than an LLM. BoooHoooo I didn't get into Harvard!!! There are people in Africa starving to death and getting their right arm lobbed off on on their fifth birthday... and NoonA want to kill his/herself over Harvard??? Cry me a river!! What a self centered, egomaniac. If NoonA can't get into Harvard or any other top school, then that's just tough. Move on, reassess and push through! "Crying for two days" over Harvard is what little babies do. And clealy NoonA acts like a little girl. Don't expect sympathy from people if you behave like a little bitch. Man the fuck up! Harvard wants leaders, not Soufflé. |

Hi NoonATue Mar 25, 2008 02:53 AM I applied to and was rejected by HLS and I am also very disappointed. There are lots of us, so dont feel too bad. If you are really that keen on HLS, try again next year. If you do decide to reapply next year, perhaps you can write to HLS sometime soon and ask them for feedback on your application of this year and use the criticism contructively. (I personally dont want to put my life on hold for an elusive dream, and so Im accepting an offer from another university.) Hope you feel less upset soon. Nothing is worth killing yourself over. There are other dreams, other goals and many many other mountains to climb. Good luck! Jummy |

NoonA, cheer up my friend. Life is tough, and full of disappointments...but that's alright, you'll be just fine in the long run. I was also rejected by Harvard (and Yale), but you know what, three other schools accepted me! Tue Mar 25, 2008 04:57 AM I've decided to attend the University of Virginia for my LL.M., and I suspect that I'll have a better time living and studying in Charlottesville anyhow! Of course, Harvard and Yale have a certain "prestige" about them (there's no denying that), but there are certainly other awesome programs which can offer students great experiences and career prospects. So wipe away the tears, take a deep breath, and put a big smile on your face. Believe me, "this too shall pass." |

Hey - I am getting this nagging doubt - Is NoonA real???Tue Mar 25, 2008 06:39 AM What are the chances that a joker is now laughing all over with the many insightful replies on the post? Give me a break - crying for two days, contemplating suicide, and an LLB at that! All the best!!! |

Tue Mar 25, 2008 08:36 AM Hey - I am getting this nagging doubt - Is NoonA real??? Consultt, your cynicism may well be justified. However, I always like to err on the side caution...as such, I decided to create a bit of "positive karma" as a response to NoonA's apparent "psychic trauma." You should know that I happen to be, among other things, a quintessential "dude"... Thus, "the dude abides" whenever humanly possible, my friend! |

I'm going to side with Consultt on this one; I'd be surprised (but highly amused) if the original post was legitimate.Tue Mar 25, 2008 04:35 PM If, however, NoonA is telling us the sad (but hilarious) truth, I have to say I prefer Mr. Easter's responses to the half-dozen "there-there" messages that followed. You know, despite the near-inhuman rage. |
