My family is now in the New York so I am thinking about staying here. Does anyone know if the external LLM programme makes you qualify to take the NY Bar Exam? Thanks!

elasky Joined: 07 May 2008 Posts: 3	UoL External Programme and New York Bar Exam Thu May 08, 2008 08:16 PM I would assume that the UoL LLM would not qualify you to sit for the New York State bar exam, as the LLM needs to be undertaken at an American accredited university. However, if you were to do the UoL LLB, this I would assume, would count as a common-law law degree which would allow you to sit for the New York State Bar exam. Check with the New York State Board of Law Examiners, just to be sure.
