I rejected CLS in the end, in favour of NYU. Corporate.

On another post you said you were rejected by CLS.
Anyway, good luck in NYU!

You too at CLS. I never said that. A friend of mine was rejected and so I replied in a thread "They sent rejections", which is probably what you meant. He was also rejected by NYU btw.

I'm sorry Lemonde1978, but I am confident that you will succeed in your studies in another U.S. law school.

Try to make them understand who you are...like begin with a funny event that happened into your life and try to link it with your academic and professional experience...(for example I met my former employer in a marathon in the U.K., and therefore my personal statement started describing this occasion...)
Try to make them understand that you are not one in a thousand but more one in a kind that you have something unique (and by this I'm meaning top grades or work experience every LL.M. at Columbia has these two features), and most of all try to not make it boring otherwise they will just trash it...
