Of the courses on the Times' Good University Guide list for Law, Strathclyde (10) and Hull (24) are the highest ranked universities which accept a 2:2. I'm looking to get into somewhere a bit more prestigious, so have applied to Nottingham for their Criminal Justice LLM so far and am also looking at Bristol among others. I have no personal experience of QMUL but I think it's a pretty well regarded university and gets a research score of 5*B from The Times with one of the best employment prospects in the country (87%). With high 2.2s and good references/statement you should be fine. Actually, looking at their admissions page, you'll be in trouble for someplace like UCL which looks for "first class honours or a good upper second-class honours". That seems to explicitly rule out the high 2.2s. UCL aside though, all Unis set out what they aspire their candidates to have but they are surely flexible round the margins unless hugely oversubscribed as ox/cam/ucl likely are. They just specify 2.1 because it's in their interests. E.g.: imagine if SOAS said they'd take 2.2s and Nottingham said 2.1s only. People would perceive Nottingham to be better regardless of the possibility that SOAS might get so many high quality foreign applicants that no 2.2s get in at all. But a good domestic student might have applied to Nottingham instead as he would prefer to be in a seminar with all 2.1 calibre students. So every place who wants to look good will specify 2.1. Quote from Bristol website: "Candidates with a lower class of degree (or other equivalent qualification) should not be deterred from applying as each application is considered on its merits." 'Research scores' are not given by The Times.
