Hello everyone, I just got an answer from Utrecht, they say my background in law isn´t sufficient. And this with 12 credits in public and international law and honours...well well well i don´t know what to say except that this leaves me with tilburg as first option. Anyone else replies from Utrecht already?

I applied both to the EU Law and to the International Business Law programme. I should say I was really quite confused with their answer, as I had first sent them an inquiry about whether my background in law was sufficient. They said they needed 6 credits preferably in International and European Law, which was exactly one of my minors at Bonn. So I have quite more than 6 credits, and an honours. By the way, I got the impression that something was very wrong with the selection and organization at Utrecht, as they kept sending me all kinds of questions and were sometimes not familiar with their own application requirements. Oh, and the application form was also quite strange....

Hey guys,Wed Apr 23, 2008 10:16 AM Anybody knows a bit about the MAS in PIL at Leiden University? I am really interested in doing it, but would be great if I could have an insight about the quality of the program, lectures and job perspectives after that. Tks |

hey Rafael,Fri Apr 25, 2008 07:24 PM I applied to the LLM in PIL at Leiden and got accepted. My background is a International Relations BA from Germany. From all I heard Leiden is one of the best place to study PIL in Europe, if not world wide. Just read a review yesterday that confirmed this impression. |

Sat Apr 26, 2008 02:15 PM Hey all, Hey there! Everybody asks for the same kind of thing... Anyway I think you should choose the one that suits u the most (per example, compare the courses and all of that)... I am gonna choose Utrecht over Tilburg, mostly because of what I heard about the reputation of their law school and master degrees, but also because they have very interesting courses and because they offer me the chance to do an internship! So yes, this is why I prefer Utrecht. It also seems to have more practical courses, than theory itself, and that's def, what I think I need. I delivered my application in hand (on the 14th of March) and although I know I was accepted I didn't receive any official letter of acceptance yet. They say it can take up to 12 weeks, so we'll see! I won't deny the offer to Tilburg until I receive the letter of acceptance from Utrecht, that's for sure! Good luck :) [Edited 26 Apr 2008 by Rachie] |

Sat May 03, 2008 12:51 PM Hey all, Hello Angela, I got accepted to Tilburg as well (not in Law but in another master) and I was wondering how did you get the scholarship acceptance? I got nominated for HSP Huygens scholarship, but I didn't get. And I was wondering if you know how they make their choices about the Tilburg Scholarship? |

Hello everyone. I begun to study my llm eu law in Amsterdam in Feb. 2008. So I will continue with you till Feb. 2009. Tue Jun 24, 2008 07:51 AM If U have any questions just ask. But I have to say that I am very satisfied with UvA programme. We have a lot of elective courses. I have friends studying in other univ.(leiden) and their programme is almost totally compulsory. Even thoug in was also in doubts sometimes now I know that UvA is a very good choice! And its good to live in Adam, moreover the accommodation is much cheaper than in smaller university towns. |
