Cornell vs. UVA

I received UVA's AD after I already submited Cornell's deposit. To be frank, I like Cornell more than UVA, because the environment there is pleasant and its reputation is good in US and in China. But Cornell's tuition is exorbitant, which I don't understand why... Considering the costs and rank, it seems that I should choose UVA over Cornell. What should I do? I need your opinions, guys~! P.S, I don't know much information about Uva...Any suggestion is welcomed.

As you said, considering the ranking and the exorbitant cost of an education at Cornell, UVA seems to be the best choice. It is my understanding that UVA has been ranked in the top ten for many years, while Cornell is a good school, it has only recently moved up in rank and is still not in the top ten. If you are super rich and do not care about rank, Cornell is a good school, otherwise I think UVA might be the best choice. They have the top ten rank and much lower cost. I wish you luck in your decision.

I think I would go for UVA, although Cornell is also a great school (a friend of mine studies there now). Cornell has a better name, because of it's Ivy League college.
I would try to check professors & courses - make a list of your picks for both schools and try to figure out which one you like more. Try to check also the costs of living in Charlottesville and Ithaca, so you don't compare bare tuition. There is another factor I would consider (but that depends on your preferences) - climate: VA should be much better than up-state NY (I have lived in New England and winters are depressing).
Anyway congratulations & am sure you'll have a good time at either place.
