UCL, Kings College, Queen Mary
Hello,Tue Apr 08, 2008 12:29 PM I have to come to a tough decision: i have applied for the LLM at UCL, King's College, Queen Mary and at London Metropolitan. Obviously London Metropolitan is my last choice. But now London Metropolitan has offered me a place and i have to accept that place within the next few days. And of course i will not accept that place, if i knew how good my chances are to get accepet at UCL, King's or Queen Mary!!! For that reason, I don't know wheter i sould accept the place at London metropolitan or not!! Has anybody already got accepted at one of these universities?? which grades are required??? especially what are the requirements for the Erstes Staatesexamen (German First State Examination) ?? Can anybody help me?? Would be very cool :-) |

I have a offer at UCL. As far as I know from the UCL's admissions, you can accept an offer and decline it later on. Only when you accept firmly, this would not be possible anymore. As it sounded this seems to be standard, but I don't know about London Metropolitan. May be worth enquiring at Metropolitan's admissions office.Tue Apr 08, 2008 03:52 PM As to grades I cannot really help, since I got a Swiss degree (a good one, but not a spectacular one). |

Hi Tue Apr 08, 2008 10:04 PM What do you mean by "accept firmly"? [Edited by Irbid on 08 Apr 2008] |

Wed Apr 09, 2008 10:19 AM Hi Well, the concept is rather new to me as well, but according to UCL's admission you can accept an offer and decline it later on till you have "firmly" accepted the offer (at least with UCL). I haven't had to "firmly" accept UCL's offer so far, though. So I'm a bit confused as well and unfortunately cannot provide a lot of help to what "accept firmly" means exactly. |

UCL has two options in their offer: (i) accept FIRMLY and (ii) decline. No other options are provided.

Thu Apr 10, 2008 08:14 AM Hello, Hey Charlotte, King's requires 8 points for the Erstes Staatsexamen. That is at least the condition I got on my offer and what they say on their website. Don't know for certain, but I heard QMUL accepts lower grades. No clue about UCL yet. Good luck!!! Where you from? |

Congratulations! So are accepting the offer from King's or will you be waiting for UCL? I'm still not certain about which one is better...

Well of course UCL is better than Kings anytime. You can even see the rankings but they only matter to a certain extent. But from what I have heard UCL is better than KCL. |
