I think it is a decent law school to get your LL.M. at, especially if you want to pursue a career in International IP (they have good IP resources and interesting professors). At the present time, Chicago-Kent is No. 3 law school in the Chicago area.Fri Jun 02, 2006 09:34 PM Re: job opportunities - it all depends on your credentials + work experience. I know at least 5 lawyers who graduated from Chicago-Kent and are doing pretty well now. [Edited 02 Jun 2006 by Chicago Law Girl] |

I'd recommend Canterbury Court, 1220 N.State Pwky. Chicago IL60610. It's Downtown Chicago, just 1.5 miles from the law school. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery of Michigan lake and, if you'd like, night life street is just a block away. A studio is $1,000 a month and no minimum leasing contract required (2 people is $1,075). You will love it, I guarantee. the admission procedure is defined on their website as well. However, the market value of LL.M in financial services is comparatively larger than that of IP.

Re: Chicago-Kent College of Law
If you are an LL.M. from Asia, Europe or Brazil you have great chances of getting a job after graduating from your program. If you are from any other place your chances will be less as there is no demand from them currently. I know people from Australia, South Africa, Chile and Morocco attending top 6 law schools in the US are having trouble to get positions... My pragmatic advise if you are looking forward to work in the US go to a top 10 law school and your chances will certainly be greater than if you attend a top 25 law school...

Re: Chicago-Kent College of Law
You can click link "most popular law school" to see initially 25 top law schools.Thu Jan 03, 2008 06:37 PM I am a Thai lawyer graduated LL.M. from Chicago kent and think that it's a good law school, though not that popular. It's almost 100 years old law school with alums working through out the country and world wide. LL.M. in IP is very interesting. prof. Dinwoodie is the program's director.
