What do you want to do after your LLM?
What the title says, really. Do you want to continue your academic studies with a PhD or use the LLM to make your CV more attractive to employers and go into the workplace?Fri Apr 25, 2008 07:51 PM I just thought I'd ask this question as most posts on this board seem to be about procedural matters like applications - there doesn't seem to be much discussion of WHY we are doing the LLM. At the moment, I'm quite taken by the idea of staying in academia forever, becoming a professor and so on, but I'm sure it's not as easy as it sounds! (I'm reposting this in here as there was no response in the General forum so apologies for the duplication). |

Personally I am aiming for the Bar, so really need an Oxbridge or London LLM, to think otherwise is a little naive really; however, I haven't ruled out continuing and pursuing a PhD, I think I will have to see how things go next year before deciding whether to go on to the BVC straightaway.
