Best Place for intellectual Property
I've been accepted to study at the three Universities in London and Cambridge. When I applied I was accepted for a general LLM. Now I think I want to specialise in Intellectual Property Law. My original inclination was to attend Cambridge but now that I've decided I want to pursue intellectual property law I wonder whether one of the London Universities would be best. I've always considered LSE one of the best choices but the fees on top of living costs of London is quite prohibitive. Does anyone have any incite into where is the best place (out of those I've been accepted to) to study intellectual property? Any incite of the courses would be much appreciated.

I have already ruled Kings out I reckon as UCL and LSE seem to be just that little bit higher than KCL. UCL have Sir Hugh Laddie, a highly prominent and influential former IP judge, as a chair. However, as some sort of surety, I am leaning towards LSE due to its global reputation that I think may prove worthwhile when aplpying to jobs abroad (I would like to work in the States at some point). Whilst everyone I have spoken to assures me that anybody who matters will recognise both of them in the same light, I have an irrational voice in my head telling me to opt for LSE. You may feel the same with Cambridge? Despite all of these universities ranking very highly, QM offer a very prestigious IP course at the QMIRIP and it is very well known for being brilliant in IP. Moreover, it is my understanding that you attend lectures at other UL colleges (ie ucl,lse,kcl) but they are unable to attend QM ones. However, i believe QM to be more geared to the scientific discipline of IP rather than the "frothy" muic/meida/liberal arts side. Please let me know what you conclude as I am still yet to decide and I htink UCL need to know ASAP! Cheers E |
