Hello everyone,

I have applied for Phd programme in Guest Scholarship but I haven't received any mail yet. It's very late and I think that my application is being rejected. The problem is that I can't ask them by email as they won't respond. If someone has received email concerning Phd or post doctorate programme please let us know.

At the end I got it. SI sends me the bright e- mail expressing my success.

Thanks to the generosity of sevesenka, my dream comes true…… God bless Sweden.

“All those who are waiting an e-mail from SI, you have great probability of wining the scholarship because almost all losers are informed, the remaining are mostly winners” a program coordinator told my friend yesterday.

Good luck for all of you

I got the scholarship and an email from SI very late but all the good news. They gave me one day to accept either by sending a fax or an email. Luckily, I had a scanner and Internet in my room and I sent them confirmation very soon.

The amount of 8000 Krone is not too much I think as the room I got on rent is for 3700 Krone. Now do you think that with the rest of 4300 Krone I can handle every expenses? For a Phd student the amount is not too much.

I am going to Goteborg University so anyone who has idea of monthly expense in Sweden can reply to the post. One of my friend has been there and she was living with 7000 krone and she was considered as poor student.

Hi Prolimina,
soory to hear that.
but have u considered working while studying?
with resident permits for Sweden, you can work legally and earn something that will get you through your master's study. think about it.

Guys,

It is true that you can work in Sweden while studying. I am in the same boat as the other 'winners' who did not get a scholarship and still hope to get there to study.

I however hold the view that Sweden is not any different from other developed countries when it comes to immigration and employment. These two issues are the very core of European debate and Sweden jealously protects its own and the economy from outside 'shocks' like the rest of the developed world.

Luckily for Sweden, she does not have to outlaw immigrant labour and restrict employment of students and temporary residents. With a resident permit you can and should get employment. But alas! To be employed you need to speak Swedish tack!

There is the catch my friends.

All the best to everyone. Remain positive. I am trying to as well and still very determined to travel to Sverige this Fall.

Hi all, I have got the following e-mail from KTH last day.Can any one tell me what is this? Am I going to get SI scholarship or not?Wht is this?

"Dear Sir/Madam,

The KTH Admissions Office has processed your appeal. Since the KTH maintains its decision, your documents will now be sent to the Board of Appeals (ÖNH).

You will be notified about the final decision, either by e-mail or regular mail. However, this process may take some time.

If you wish to make a comment to the Board of Appeal, you can do so within the period of two weeks."
