Hi everybody, does anybody if is neccesary to have finished your law degree in order to apply for an LLM?

I hope to finish my law degree the next year (2008-2009) and I want to know if I could to start to apply for an LLM in early 2009 (march, april...). IŽd start my LLM in 2009-2010.

Thank you in advance!!

As far as I know you can apply before you actually got your degree, at least I know a couple of people you did so... but maybe you just should contact your perspective school and that will be the most certain answer... udachi

In Belgium most students who want to pursue an LLM apply for it when they're in their final year; it's the rule rather than the exception. Some universities require (or prefer) a few years of experience though, so their chances for these universities diminish.

You say you'd start applying in March - April 2009 to do an LLM in 2009-2010; try to get started before as many deadlines will have past (at least in the US) by the end of 2008 already...
