Job Opportunities after LLM at WCL (American University ILSP Program)

Dear LLM folks,
Does anyone have any feedback from their Job Search results after completing the ILSP LLM at American University, Washington College of Law?
Has anyone landed a job or nice paid internship after graduating this program (or do you know of someone)?
And I am referring mostly to the International Lawyers.
I would appreciate some info, thanks to all!

Hello Elenasab,
I am an international lawyer, though us citizen and was wondering about the International Business law program at
WCL/AU. I was wondering first, How would you rate AU, the programs, the professors, the admission process.
And of course afterwards was it easy for you to get a good job or internship.
Thanks,
SD

Thanks, SD
I am asking the same questions, so unfortunately I can't give you answers.
I have been admitted to this program and I am going to attend it this Fall.
I am going to look for some opportunities in the US too, since I am also in the country for some time now (5 years).
I think the school is very highly ranked as far International Business/Organizations Law and is 7 out of 10 in the US News Special Rankings.
If anyone has any information please share.
Thanks!

I am an attorney in an "immigration only" law firm in Stamford, Connecticut. We are in need of an immigration "case manager" - similar to a paralegal, with a lot of client contact. If you know of someone who would be interested ask them to send a resume to laurajazz@aol.com.

Actually this LLM is ranked #5 not 7 in World News. I will attend one of the summer academies at WCL and will apply to the fall 2009. My friend graduated from ILSP last year and said WCL has a career counselor especially for LLM students who helped him get an internship and a job in DC

Thanks rita21,
I really appreciate this info, I am very interested in their programs and wanted to see how they help their graduate get job offers, may it be through law firms or consultance agencies.
Thanks appreciate the info!
p.s: do you know how Georgetown or even Fordham ranked compared to WCL/AU?

Hi SDESS,

I'm thinking of applying to AU/WCL in their Intl law LLM program, so I've been doing some research as well. For international law, Georgetown is ranked 3 I think. AU/WCL is ranked 5. But I know that Fordham doesn't even make top 10 for international law.

As for getting a job after, since you're in DC there are lots of international organizations to work for, IMF, UN, WB, etc. Also, I'm with Rita21 on this one. My friend went to AU/WCL and said that the career advisor really helps the international LLMs find jobs.

Hi Amelie142,
Thanks for the info, I plan to apply at AU/WCL for fall 2009 and wish to take the LLM in International Business and Trade. It is a relief to know that they have a good career counseling service especially that I would like to work in DC. The Job market for the LLM is quite tough. Thanks again, if you have any info at all on their programs please feel free to share. I appreciated the info, Hope to meet you in person next year. Please do keep in touch.
SD.

Hey Kheb,

Thanks for your post. Not too sure about the LLM acceptance rate. But I know that they usually have a class size of like 150ish. I bet you could call and see if they have that info.
