Cambridge v NYU for international law

Dear all,

I know you have seen far too many of these postings but here is another dilemma, Cambridge v NYU. If it were Columbia, HLS, YLS I would pick that over Cambridge any time but NYU sort of does not have that mighty prestige all these other names have. The idea is to do International Law for which both these schools have No 1 rankings in their respective countries. I have never been in USA, how is NYU viewed over there, is it really as highly regarded as they claim to be? Do employers look at NYU as equally good as Columbia?

In any case, what would YOU do? Which one would you pick given all the circumstances?

Hi Shqipe,

Have you thought of American University? I'm looking into applying there, along with GW, and G-town. I know it's ranked lower in Intl Law (5), but honestly if you're planning on going to NYU, your focus should be in intl business law. But if you're focusing on human rights, trade, IP, etc., AU has a pretty good reputation for their programs. Also, since it's in DC, its almost a better city than NY for networking (non-profit, intl organization sector..not business, NY takes the prize on that one).

Anyway, good luck.
