SOP frustration
I am just about to have a break down... sitting and writing these irritating SOPs. Do i have to state that i want to teach after an LLM or something to that effect?? I mean if i say i want to work in the US will that act as a negative against me. Can i simply state what i want to say or do i have to manufacture stuff. At times i do feel confused as to what i would do after an LLM. All i know is that i simply want to study now and pursue an LLM degree. Thats all! Does making this decision have to take into account all future activities of mine??!! I have been struggling with my SOPs for weeks now and everything sounds fake and corny. I am just fed up!!!! Please please help.

I really think honesty goes a long way. I think this way, you don't come off as manufacturing anything..Tue Sep 16, 2008 02:10 PM I feel the same way as you though, as I'm debating on who to answer the purpose of my LLM - is it: (a) to study and go back to home country; or (b) to study, find a US job, and contribute to the US legal community. I'm not sure which is the best way.. considering I know my JD friends must choose (b) in their statements. But LLM's are in a funny situation since most US schools expect us to go back home. Just my little rant. I'm not sure it was quite helpful, but hopefully it triggers more replies. |

I'm lost as well.... i dont know how specific they want us to be... how much detail to they want in the harvard legal question.... what about part two... are we supposed to tell them exactly which classes we want to take?
