LLb from UK
Wed Jul 23, 2008 01:23 PM Hi people, my name is Anshul kalra. I graduated( b.com) from bombay this year. I aspire to become a lawyer. However, currently, I am facing a dilemna regarding the LLb I wish to pursue. I applied to few of the Uk universities last year and managed to get a place at kings college, london for this academic year. I have got the few quries which I would wish anyone of you to answer: Being an international student, I do not have enough knowledge on the job prospects after this degree, so what would be your take on this? Secondly, I have thought that after completing my LLb from kings, I would take an LPc course to become a solicitor. Now do you think It would be feasible for me to spend so much at a strech, and expect an impressive return? Thirdly, After completing my studies, say after starting a professional life, If I have to return to my country then would I be getting jobs in the Indian law firms? Also, I have enquired that the jurisdiction of India and the Uk is almost similar, so does it makes easier for the Indian students to work in both the countries? |

Kings is a great law school for LLM. I think it depends on how much you really wish to live and practice in the UK. Fri Jul 25, 2008 11:15 AM Kings has a wonderful reputation in the UK (and overseas) so this shouldn't be you main worry. Good luck. |

Go ahead with King's. Just dont have any second thoughts. In the current year it has been ranked 4th in U.K. for LL.M. and 24th globally. It'll benefit you greatly if you do your LL.B. from King's and even greater if you do LL.M. thereafter. Even i'm going for my Master's at King's.Wed Jul 30, 2008 01:34 PM All the best!! |
