LLM to specialise in corporate, security or labour laws
I am a corporate lawyer working full time in a law firm based in Delhi. I want to pursue LLM to specialize in corporate, security or labour laws by distance education for career enhancement. I will really appreciate if anybody can guide me regarding the options available in India and abroad?

LLM to specialise in corporate, security or labour laws
hi nidhiMon Sep 01, 2008 02:50 PM Masters in business laws is a good course if you wish to speciallize in business or corporate laws...alternatively..you could pursue the executive program from ICSI i.e. the institute of company secretaries the course would provide you with an in deapth knowledge of the securities market of india..fema/fera ..sebi regulations, etc, etc, alongwith a very sound understanding of company law, labour law, financial accounting and a few other subjects, if you are al qualified lawyer you can also avail exemption from one of the papers that deals with general laws or something...the cs executive program can do wonders to your credentials regardless of wether you clear the cs professional programme or not, the flipside though is that the coursework to the executive programme is extremely vast and demanding.. hope this info is of some help...) cheers.. |

LLM to specialise in corporate, security or labour laws
Dear Archmancometh,Tue Sep 02, 2008 07:39 AM Thank you very much for your response.. do you have any idea about the mbl programme offered by NSIU, Bangalore through distance education? Wht is its market value? For the career enhancement of a corporate lawyer, which course do you think is better out of MBL from NSIU and LLM from DU ? You are right in saying the CS course may give a lot of mileage to the career of a corporate lawyer, but keping in mind the long working hours in office, due to paucity of time to cover the extensive course, it would not be practically viable to do it. Any other suggestions on MBL? Best regards, Nidhi. |
