Master of Business Laws from NLSIU Bangalore, India

Dear all,
After googling for a while on the net, I have come across this seemingly 'useful' website.
I am a law student from Amsterdam, The Netherlands but of Indian origin. I have done my LL.B. from here as i grew up here but this year have registered myself for MBL from the National Law School in Bangalore. This course was suggested by a friend of mine as I told him about my plans to shift to India after 2-3 years and live there.
I was wondering about the market value of this course with my educational background. I know that my LL.B. holds very less to no value in India but I am multilingual and have studied International Law (LL.M) for a while before making my mind to persue MBL from India.
Also, how to get in touch with people doing this long distance course from NLSIU? I want to know if there are groups or discussion forums for the people doing this course and aren't living in Bangalore, communication portals online for instance.

Since my enrollment, I haven't received any login from the DED department. Do the distance learners get an e-mail ID from NLSIU or an ID card like any other university in the world?

Who is the appointed person to answer the queries about job prospects after finishing this degree course? What should one do along with this course to have a good job there.

Hi there.. MBL is a very good course and has a great value in India.. its a difficult course though with pass percentage only around 2%.. You may find a number of people who are pursing this course on various community sites viz. orkut or facebook.. suggest you try contacting them through these sites..

Hi....its unfortunate that nobody has replied to your thread (despite a fairly active Indian presence on this website)! Anyway, just to answer your question -- I am not a student of NLSIU, Bangalore, although I am in my final year of a three-year LL.B. course from a fairly reputed institution in India. I know a lot of people from my college who do the MBL degree while completing their LL.B.s. (I have not done it myself). It is a preferred choice of degree for a lot of students in India wanting to know more about the business and commercial aspects of law in India, and draws students from fairly diverse backgrounds (not necessarily legal). From what friends who are currently doing the course tell me, it is not easy, but regular study throughout the year helps a lot.

If you'd like to speak to some who are still doing the course, pl email me and let me know! It wont be a problem at all!
