MBL n Dip in IPR from NLS
hi Akansha,Mon Nov 09, 2009 12:51 PM I am a CS n LLB from Mumbai with about 9 years of exp in Corporate Legal & Secretarial field. I have been contemplating MBL from NLS since a few years but havent made up my mind as yet.... I had a few queries: 1. Do you think this course will give one more insights into the General Finance field, rather than just the Legal field? I feel i need to have some Finance exposure so that i can take higher responsibilities in Legal & Finance too..... 2. You mentioned that you were doing the Diploma in IPR from NLS. How good is this course? pls share more details.... |

MBL n Dip in IPR from NLS
Hi Shikha,Wed Nov 11, 2009 06:40 PM Firstly, let me take the opportunity to congratulate you on your achievements this far. It's really great to have come till here :) 1. Yes, it will give you insight into financial field as well, as the subjects include taxation, investment laws, trade laws, banking laws, IPR et al. However, if you are looking for core financial knowhow, you must opt for financial courses. This course is on laws involved in these subjects. Please note that it also depends on the student as to how much he reads and researches on different topics to make addition to his knowledge. I suggest that you go through the different modules on the website to get a better picture of its usage to you. 2. Yes, I am doing the IPR course from NLS. It's quite good. I have attended few contact classes as well. The crowd includes a lot of scientists and biotechnology students as the course comprises of biotechnology laws too. One thing is for sure. IPR at LL.B was just the fundamentals. Here, it is vast and comprehensive. Let me know what more you would like to know about it and I shall revert back. Hope this helps. Akanksha. hi Akansha, I am a CS n LLB from Mumbai with about 9 years of exp in Corporate Legal & Secretarial field. MBL n Dip in IPR from NLS
Hi Akansha, thanks for your very detailed reply to a query by a fellow member. It has useful information. I am doing MBL (enrolled in 2009) and it has a module on IPR in the second year. But I suppose it will only touch certain areas of IPR and will not be as exhaustive as your course. Anyways, wish you all the best.

Hi Shashikala, congratulations on your joining MBL. I too have enrolled this year and yes, did attend the contact classes at Bangalore. Thu Nov 12, 2009 09:05 AM I would suggest you join some group on either yahoo or on orkut where you can follow the discussions by fellow students. That would help. Regarding pass %age, yes its pretty tough as its a masters degree and the standards set for passing are very high. Wish you luck in your endeavour. |
