I am planning to apply for an LLM for 2009-2010. Could you suggest me which school I should choose?

Under LLB GPA3.2/4.0
master GPA3.8/4.0 (rank:1)
Ph.D candidate in law GPA4.0/4.0 (rank:1)
Ph.D candidate in social science
1.5 year experience—in practice and project
More the ten publications–including the best law review in my country
More the ten scholarships in my country
TOEFL:81

I am worry about my backgrounds, especially under GPA and TOEFL. Do you have any advice? Could you tell me which school I should choose? Many thanks in advance.

why are you applying for an LLM if you have a PhD in law?

There are nothing wrong with these credentials.

I don't know which schools will accept you, but with all your first place rankings and publications, I think you should apply to all the top schools in the USA.

But my under gpa is not good, my toefl score is also much lower than 100.
Is it still possible to get the admission of US top law school?
Or which school has a flexible toefl requirement?

with that resume i wouldn't worry about getting in a top US university.

Nonetheless, the toefl score could be a problem, at least at a first glance. Some universities provide, for whom has already been admitted, summer english programs when they've gone close the required score.

If your main concern is to improve your language skills, I'd engage in a post-doctoral program whose requirements (for the language) may not be as tough as those for the LL.M.

Hello... And what do you think top university consider more important?? GPA or work experience? I dont event know what my GPA would be under the american system. I'm from central america and I'm really stressed out with this application process, specially with the personal statements and recommendations!

I don't think you need to translate your average into the US GPA system. When I applied I just stated my overall average as it was (i.e. 28/30). Applications aren't solely based on that: the admission committee will see your official (translated) transcript that will speak for itself since it's objective. What you have to do is give that transcript a name and a story through a remarkable statement of purpose. Give yourself, at least, 3 days of brainstorming before final drafting it.

GPA/qualifications/ranking, in other words, your academic performance summarized in a number whatever the system, is the point of departure. If your marks are below their limit, they (normally) won't consider your application. Once you've passed that treshold, your working experience would be positively valuated.
