Tue Apr 14, 2009 04:13 AM Congratulations for everyone accepted to NUS Law School. I'm now doing LLM here. Just a heads-up, Discrete. I sent you a PM. I'd appreciate your thoughts on the NUS LL.M. experience. Thanks. |

Hi Carlos,Tue Apr 14, 2009 01:13 PM Looking forward to meet you too. As for Singapore, we should be applying for the Singapore visa once the documents come from NUS in mid May. As for Shanghai, Prof Tan had once said that the visa formalities are completed while we are in Singapore. Its a little tedious task I'm told due to voluminous documentation but then all worth it. Looking forward to see you and everybody else... Cheers!! |

Wed Apr 15, 2009 03:49 AM Has anyone made all the arraignments in the housing department. Sorry for raising something that's off-topic, but since someone asked: I have a friend who's renting out a room in Thomson Road. (FYI. Thomson Road, by taxi, is barely 5 minutes away from school, i.e. if I didn't have my place right now, I'd gladly take that room since it's very near the NUS Law School.) If you're interested, just PM me. I'll introduce you to her. |

Hi Anu,Fri Apr 17, 2009 01:12 PM I am from the french part. But I absolutely don't want to speak french in Singapore. I need to improve my English...;-) Now if you want, I could speak French and you'll answer in English. OK? See you in Singapore, Luca |

Hi everyone, the wait is almost over and soon we'll meet at NUS.Wed May 06, 2009 04:39 AM I'm hoping to learn Chinese and be able to speak it fluidly. Does anybody know if the university has those kind of programs, or it would be best to look for one in Shanghai. |

HI Carlos,Wed May 06, 2009 08:54 AM I'm not sure about the University offering any programs for learning Chinese (not at least in bukit timah campus). However, there are places in Singapore where you can learn the language. Anything that we can manage to learn in Singapore would definitely come in handy at Shanghai. I wonder if someone could teach me how to use the chopsticks :-) !! Cheers |

Hi everyone!Mon May 11, 2009 05:13 PM Im from Turkey and now im living in Shanghai and learning Chinese ( Fudan University ) Im excepted like all u guys to NUS. I'll be in The Int'l Business Law program and am so excited to go to Singapore in July! I read the post about learning Chinese and i hope we can find sometime to study Chinese at the same time with the master coz i dont know if any of u speak chinese already but i really have hardtime to "write" it at least :) but its so exciting and i ldefinitely love it! but its hard, i mean really hard! and i definitely dont wanna forget all i learned so far. Still, if there's somebody who's interested i can recommend Fudan, well, there r a lot of options in shanghai actually. since we'll be at ECUPL i dont know how it'll work but Fudan also provide tutors who can come to your place like everyday may be to teach to groups...i can get more info soon if u like... hope to see u all soon in NUS ! Cheers! |

Hi!Mon May 18, 2009 12:44 AM By the way, has anyone received yet the second email from NUS Law? According to the offer letter, they say that we prospective students should expect an email from NUS in mid May. But I have not recieved yet. I am very nervous whether the mail will surely be sent to me. |

I applied to IBL too and havenīt received the 2nd mail.Mon May 18, 2009 03:18 PM What concerns me is that we had previously been accepted (via 1st email) and the 2nd is intended for documentation only. All that we can do is wait. (Letīs hope for a short time) |

Dear Mr. Tan,Tue May 19, 2009 12:34 PM There is a form titled "Acceptance Record" which forms a part of the "Acceptance Booklet" and needs to be sent to NUS before 25th May. Could you please tell us, if something needs to be written by us under the heading "Student No." in this form, because neither the email nor any of the attachments specify any such number having been allocated. Your kind response is eagerly awaited. Sincerely |
