JerryS: LLM Program at Aix Marseille

I have been accepted to the LLM (European Business Law) at Aix Marseille. I am seriously considering accepting, however the only information I have been able to find on this program has been on their website. I was hoping some of you on this board might have information concerning the reputation, curriculum, job prospects etc. associated with this program. Any info one can add will be greatly appreciated.

I´m also having problems on finding out more info about the University´s reputation, however i found out that it is ranked 55th worldwide, allocating the LLM above of other LLM´s imparted by prestigious european Universities. Regards, and hope to hear more information in that regard.

I just got a mail with the acception for the programme at IREA. Anybody else?
And could anybody from the last year tell me if the LLM is more supposed to be a crash-course for non-europeans or if it is also useful for law students with knowledge in Eurpean law?
Thank you

Hi there, have you all confirmed the acception , yet?
About the living situation: i would prefer sharing a flat instead of students´residence. But i dont know how to organize it. So student residence will be the easier way, but for sure very very small rooms.
Thats all i can say.
Fireblader-Jan, did you talk to your professor? What did he say?
bye, Ariane

I have not received the official letter yet, I think I will wait for it and then confirm acceptance.

About housing: according to the information available at the university's website, rooms at student housing are very simple and with shared bathrooms. I know some people who live in St Raphael (approx 1 hour from Aix en Provence), and asked them for information on how to find a studio and what are the best places to stay. As soon as I have any news on that regard I let you know.

Yesterday, I got the brochure. To live in student residence house means to have a small single room and bathroom is on every floor so I predict, that it will be just small room without anything - it will be outside the room - toilet, bathroom or kitchen ..

They are writting in the brochure, taht to rent a nice flat cost about 450 EUR so it would be may be better to try find out something .... but other thing is how quickly, because there is a lot of tourists ...

Hi,
I've also been accepted to the LLM in Aix. I've been reading yours postings about housing. The student rooms seem small but I would be interested in sharing a flat with other people. The websites sent by Camilla have quite expensive rooms as the rent doesn't cover electricity etc.

Does anyone have any actual offers for private flats to share?

More details from Fireblader's German friend?

Yes, the prices are very high, I haven't decided how much I am willing to spend myself, especially because since I was told about my acceptance the euro is getting more and more expensive (I live in Brazil)…I have found a few more sites about living in Aix:

http://www.location-aixenprovence.com/listemeubles-UK.html
http://www.crous-aix-marseille.com.fr/
http://www.aixenprovencetourism.com/aix-mairie.htm

Another subject….Everybody already got the official letter from the University?

Hey guys
It’s been a long time you haven’t written anything.
I was wondering whether you have found any accommodation yet.
I’m getting troubles in finding one, because the rooms in most of the student’s residences are already taken, or some of them ask to pay the entire year’s fee in advance.
Could you give me any tips what are you up to?

Hey there, I have some general questions about this program. WIll they accept me with a British LLB degree? (they say the qualifying degree should be an equivalent to the French law degree with at least 4 years syllabus whereas the British LLB is only 3 years)
And how long is this course, 1 year or 2 years?

Thanks in advance for replies. Regards,
V.
