I am too, but I am still trying to figure out how. I am keeping my fingers crossed anyway. Even a DFW will make a huge difference.

Do you know if we are going to receive an e-mail or we should wait for an actual letter of admission? I cant wait to have the info from them, not only from the system!

A DFW would be a bless indeed. Letīs hope for the best. On the other hand, Iīm checking my finances, possible loans, etc., etc, etc.

I believe there is nothing we can do now but wait for the official letter. It wonīt be long, Iīm sure.

Hope to see you in Montreal this fall!

Tks for the good thoughts! I hope so, but I believe they take into consideration many factors to grant the scholarships, and the TOEFL is only a small part of the application. Have you taken the TOEFL yet?

Well, they probably receive a lot of applications and it takes time to review them...

I am recommended as well - for the thesis - LL.M. in comparative law. I wish they would hurry up and give me the official "you're accepted" status though.
Anybody know anything about merits of thesis vs. non-thesis. I chose thesis, because I hope to produce something publication-worthy. I've had second thoughts because I've been thinking one gets more guided classroom education in the same time frame and for the same cost with the non-thesis option. Thoughts anyone?

Hi BNR,

First of all, congrats! From my perspective, the thesis option is more academic and research orientated. I also believe that the time frame is different between the two programmes. According to the information provided on their website, a non-thesis LL.M normally takes 1 year whereas the average time for a thesis option ranges from 1,5 to 2 years. This, of course, may rise the cost of a thesis LL.M a little bit (have to pay for additional sessions, living expenses, etc.).

Anyway, Iīm just making theoretical assumptions here. Donīt know how it works in practice.

Best,

It finally says "admitted" on Minerva. That's quite a bit better than "recommended by department."
Congrats to all others who have also been admitted.
