LLM @ USD
I am considering attending USD's LLM tax program. But I have a few questions.Sun Feb 01, 2009 05:53 PM How is the program at USD? (I know its not up there with NYU, GT or FLA) Is the degree only useful on the west coast? (I would like to practice on the east coast) Any other information would be useful. Thanks |

My understanding is that USD is a good regional program. You are right in stating that it is not on the same level as NYU/GT/UF, but it is well-respected in the west. Thu Feb 05, 2009 04:02 PM I believe most USD LLM grads do practice out west, mostly California, Oregon, and Arizona. Some do head back east, but that is far less common. I can't say whether that is because the USD degree wouldn't carry weight back east or because the USD students all wanted to stay out west. The east coast/west coast divide is still pretty strong in the LL.M. world. The traditional "powerhouses" are all east coast and Loyola, San Diego, and Denver are the only top level western schools (so long as you lump Northwestern with the east). |
