NYU Vs. Upenn+ Wharton
I need some suggestion to decide between NYU ( Corporation law ) or Upenn+Wharton..Sat Mar 28, 2009 12:01 PM Is there any reason to decline NYU for Upenn+Wharton? Do you think Wharton's certificate can make us a better business Lawyer? Is there any chance for networking in this dead market at NYU? Do you think is there any ranking for Upenn with Wharton Certificate? Do you think due to location of NY, NYU is a good option ( may be due to UN and Law firms )? |

If you're international, NYU will probably open more doors abroad than UPenn, unless recruiters happen to be familiar with Wharton (which a lot of people know of in Asia and Southern America but not so much in Europe).Sat Mar 28, 2009 12:13 PM Law schools called "University of [state/city]" unfortunately tend to have a name brand deficit abroad, even though it's totally undeserved. For example, the amount of foreign professionals who believe Georgetown Duke and Cornell are better than University of Chicago is mind-boggling (though it might change thanks to former faculty member B. Obama). If you're domestic, the main question is whether you absolutely want to work in NYC or not. NYU will be better for networking while you're there. But UPenn also has an excellent placement in NY firms so really both are great choices. To sum it up, international: unless you live in a country where Wharton is famous, I'd go for NYU. Domestic: depends on how much you love NYC. [Edited by Hedek on 28 Mar 2009] |

NYU is better option in general..... Upenn with Wharton will open many options for you, moreover NYU is a marketing school..... it is a question of personal choice as in Wharton certificate there are only 8-9 LLM students in the class of 25-30... and i believe that wharton never compromise in whatever they will offer , even a certificate for working professional.... at NYU, stern is a costly affair ... at Upenn, you can save money but at NYU, may be you will consider cost factor... but NYU experience is better...
