This ranking obsession is hilarious! (Especially for us LLMs who will return to their home countires where none of this "science" is relevant)

Funny, in another thread Wolla described this ranking as: "Don't worry :) The general concensus appears to be that it is fake." What made you change your mind?
www.llm-guide.com/board/68705/4

Anyway, these rankings may be not so important for us LLMs, but unfortunately they have a lot of "real life" consequences on many people, including how law firms recruit, including US firms with offices in our home countries, and that has a direct effect on us, and laying off of law school staff... some people will probably get fired at George Washington (20 to 28, ouch).

As usual, take US News rankings with a grain of salt. Some reasons why you should: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=937017…

Well, that was the general consensus :) (look at www.top-law-schools.com).

And while the version from this night is pretty close to the version posted a few days ago, it appears that the earlier posted version was some sort of preliminary draft (the rankings are pretty much the same, but there are small discrepancies in the numbers and formatting).

Thanks for the link Hedek - though I hope for everyone's sake this doesn't start another long chain of messages from the usual suspects that seeks to insult everyone for suggesting that a certain school is no longer the top school in the world in a field the posters have been trumping to no end on this board.

No big changes in the U.S News Ranking it seems.

top 5 changes:

Stanford went down in ranking, up in points.
NYU gained 2 points and now it's only 1 point behind Columbia.

Last year:
1. Yale Law School (100)
2. (tie) Harvard Law School, Stanford Law School (91)
4. Columbia Law School (88)
5. New York University School of Law (85)

1. Yale Law School (100)
2.Harvard Law School, (95)
3.Stanford Law School (93)
4. Columbia Law School (88)
5. New York University School of Law (87)
