Hello All,
I'm in touch with person from Lund University and she said that acceptance letters were not send off yet. They will struggle to do it before the end of May.
Dear Stephb, RC, Saroj and others that were accepted. I'm sure you will try to organize accommodation for your staying in Sweden - my proposition is to get in touch and find something suitable. It could reduce costs of staying for all of us. What do you say?

HI STEPH,
Thanx for the info.I hope we can hear from them by the end of this month.That will be cool.Im just wondering if there are any other people admitted for the labour programme,seems like most people are 4 intellectual ppty.Im also bothered by the fact that the process has taken rather too long,everyone is in a check of some sort.I heard that this time round they got the biggest number of applicants.Perharps that explains the delay coz they must have gotten overwhelmed.In the mean time,lets keep waiting and hope for the best.

I got my letter from Lund today (at last). Amy (who was chatting earlier on in the conversation) has also been admitted to the Labour Law programme.
I couldn't see you on the list though for Labour Law- what is your official name?

Hi, everyone! At last i also received an offer from Lund for LLM in HRs and IP. I already decided to accept the offer from Essex university, UK, then i suddenly received e-mail from Lund. Lund was my first priority, so i'm really happy and decided to accept it. But i still have some questions, i read on Lund website that studying starts August 31, but August 21 it's going to be some kind of meeting, but arrival day is August 16. Are you going to come so early? Has someone applied for Orientation program and Swedish language course week for International students? Have they really accepted just 15 students for LLM in HRs and IP? BUt it looks like that first semester all three LLM programs have similar subjects.

When did you hear from them? This means that you can live with your boyfriend I guess?
I think the pages you got the info from were the International Students pages. I think this is just for 'exchange students' but it might be an idea to ask Hanna to check. The official letters I got from Lund say that registration is 31st August and doesn't mention anything before then.
The first semester subjects are exactly the same for all HRs subjects. They usually only admit around 15 students for HRs and IP and according to the list I have they only admitted 12 this year.

hello,

I have some question about the LLM Programme in HR at the Lund University. I read az its homepage, that there : "Lunnd University is a state university, and according to the Swedish legislation it is not allowed to charge the students for the courses.
However, students have to pay an obligatory membership fee to the Students Association, totalling approximately 300 SEK per semester "
Does it go for foreign students (EU) as well??
And what are the criteria at the application. I mean which students are favoured? I have a master degree at the best hungarian iniversity and I study there actually as a Phd student. What are my chances?

i have been accepted to the lund hr llm myself and am quite glad to have found some of my future colleagues. by the way, congratulations! :)

i sincerely hope we can share useful information on residence procedures, accomodation, travel arrangements etc.

Hi Satine,
EU students don't have to pay fees to go to uni in Sweden but they do have to pay the 300 SEK to the students' association (300sek is nothing when you consider that you get a free education).
As far as I can 't tell there isn't anything that they look for apart from a solid interest in Human Rights. I think they just look at each student's individual merits and make an assessment on that. I only have an LLB but I have done quite a lot of Human Rights based work experience. I know in the past they have admitted students that have worked as lawyers with little, if any, HRs experience and they have accepted people on mainly their academic qualifications.
In other words the criteria is a good statement of purpose.
I think one thing they will wonder about is why you want to do an LLM when you are already doing a Phd. Is your Phd on something HRs related?

I have actually suspended my phd studies, and my theme is of course related with HR. :)
I haven't got many experience, but set purpose!

Hi everybody,

I've just received an email from Lund telling me I was accepted for the LLM at Human Rights and Intellectual Property Rights, but I didn't receive the letter by post yet. My main concern now is get the visa (I'm from Brazil), since it takes 8 weeks (!!) to be delivered. It's SO good to see people who is going to be my classmates. I've applied for accomodation and orientation guide and everything, so i'm reall in doubt about when to arrive in Lund. August 16th? 21th? 31th? Any idea? Does someone know when they let you know if there's accomodation for you? Have I any chances being number 26100?

Hi,Steph! I received e-mail with offer from Lund on Wednesday (14 June).But yesterday i received another e-mail from Hanna about scholarship. She wrote that today she'll send my letter of acceptance by mail, so i hope to receive it this week. I'm really happy to be admitted and yes, i'm going to live with my boyfriend in Malmo. So we'll be able to meet on our way to Lund in the train. You are right i read pages for International exchange students, but they mentioned also master students. In scholarship letter (which i received as e-mail attachment) introductory course in Swedish is mentioned. It's written compulsory participation. Have you heard anything about it?

Hi, Steph! the link wasn't mentioned in the scholarship letter, it was just written that introductory course in Swedish is organized by Folkuniversitetet. Do you speak Danish?

The programme at the University of Geneva isn't in human rights law per se, nor is it an LL.M. programme exactly. First, it offers a degree in humanitarian law (the law of armed conflict), not human rights law. Secondly, it no longer offers an LL.M., but a 'Master in Advanced Studies', which is regarded as the equivelant of an LL.M.

As far as its reputation: for those interested in humanitarian law in particular, it provides excellent instruction and career opportunities. Because of its proximity to the ICRC (also located in Geneva), many of the world's foremost scholars in this field research there. It is also affiliated offically with the ICRC, which provides students with opportunities not available at locations more distant from Geneva.

Hi,
My name is Ranyta Yusran and I come from Indonesia. I've been accepted in the international human rights law program in Lund university. But I'm a bit confused now since I cannot track down my housing application progress in the University's website (my name is not in it and I've already sent the pre-registration form) neither the faculty administrator nor the RWI administrator can help me in this matter. Up untill now, I haven't got a place to stay in Lund (I've also had put announcement in the Bopoolen website but I haven't got any reply). Do you guys have any suggestion on this issue?

Hi everyone!
I am a 4th year student majoring in economics. I am thinking of applying for the international human rights programme in Lund University. I'd like to learn whether only students with very high GPAs are accepted. My cumulative GPA is about 2.90, what are yours? Do you think that my GPA is low? I do not have any publications, I have written a few articles so far, but they haven't been published given that I am still an undergraduate student. I wonder what my chances are of being accepted.

I would like to have informations about the better masters degrees in Human Law? How, when, where to apply? How much is this? If is possible to obtain scholarship?
I´m lawyer, brazilian, specialized in labor law, and I want to work, in a humans right of work area... Well...I want to do this course, but I still don´t know how...

I would like to know what you think of the LLM in Human Rights of Universidad Nacional de la Plata (Argentina). I have a friend who's professor in the University of BsAs and she's told me that the HR Master taught in La Plata is excellent.
